Chapter 1225
Chapter 1225 An Important Guest
The President wasn't done yet.
But upon hearing this, Samantha's heart bloomed with joy.
These were all valuable connections. It would be foolish of her to not seize the opportunity to get to know these big shots.
As a small country, they had been quite successful over the years. Their success was largely attributed to their ability to foresee opportunities and collaborate with larger, more powerful entities for mutual benefit, which enabled their significant development.
Samantha hurriedly sent a cheerful message to Chillton. Samantha: Son, hurry back. Your father wants to introduce you to some very important people.
At that moment, Chillton had already arrived at the entrance of the President's office. He replied to Samantha's text message as he made his way in.
Chillton: Understood. I'll be home shortly.
He had just stepped through the gate when he heard the screech of car brakes behind him. Surprised, he turned to see a woman in a white gown stepping out of the car.
He raised an eyebrow and was about to whistle, curious to see who was this young lady that was dressed so ethereally beautiful. But as the woman lifted her head, he was taken aback.
“Yuri? Who allowed you to come back?”
His voice was filled with disdain and mockery. “You, a deserted wife whose husband is in jail, dares to come back?”
Yuri, in her high heels, gracefully walked up to Chillton. With an expressionless face, she looked at her younger stepbrother and said, “I am the president's daughter. I can return whenever I want without the need to seek anyone's approval.”
Chillton initially thought that Yuri would be as trembling and timid as before, but to his surprise, she turned out to be so tough.
He was completely taken aback, looking at Yuri with disbelief. “This is outrageous, how dare you speak to me like this?”
“I'll speak to you however I want. It's none of your business,” Yuri said, her face adorned with elegant makeup. She looked radiant and full of life, nothing like the downtrodden wife she used to be.
How could a person change so much in such a short time?
It was as if she had been reborn.
Chillton was utterly bewildered. “I heard you escaped from the Guzman family, and Yosef is now in jail. The Guzman family despises you, yet you dare to come to the President's office? The Guzman family will surely come for you tonight.”
Yuri strode past him without stopping, her voice laced with a hint of coldness. “So what? Am I supposed to be afraid of them?”
Chillton originally wanted to say that she was terrified of the Guzman family in the past.
He quickened his pace to catch up with Yuri, his face twisted in disgust as he sternly warned, “Listen, we have important guests coming over for dinner tonight. You better not cause any trouble. Watch your mouth. If you dare offend our guests, I promise you, there will be consequences!”
Yuri didn't even spare him a glance. She scoffed and continued on her way.
This wretch, how dare she disregard me like this? The old her would never have dared.
Feeling flustered and exasperated, Chillton reached out to grab Yuri's arm, intending to push her away.
To everyone's surprise, Yuri managed to dodge and even retaliated with a slap. “I'm your sister. Show me some respect!”
Chillton was completely baffled.
D-Did I just get hit? By Yuri?
In the moment of his stunned silence, Yuri had already walked away.
Chillton was seething with anger, gritting his teeth. You lowlife, just you wait.
He entered the banquet hall, grumbling under his breath.
He saw the President and Samantha greeting guests but didn't dare to approach. He was unsure if the slap Yuri had just given him had left a red mark on his face. It hurts.
He quickly ducked into the bathroom, but the moment he looked in the mirror, he was dumbfounded.
There was a vivid handprint on his left cheek. In his anger, he quickly sent a message to his butler, asking him to urgently bring a packet of ice to the bathroom. Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
Samantha waited and waited, but her son never showed up. Though anxious, there was nothing she could do about it.
How could he drop the ball at such a crucial moment and still not return for such an important occasion?
She was so annoyed that she quickly sent another message to urge Chillton.
Just as she finished sending the message, she looked up to see Yuri striding into the banquet hall, and she was instantly taken aback.
