The Alpha Vampire

Chapter 166 We Are Back

It is another stormy night; the rain is coming down in a loud pitter-patter as it is beating against the window. The wind is howling, leaving a somewhat ominous sound traveling through the hallways. I am here in the darkness of my room, or as they shall say courters. Well, I do find it an odd word to call four walls.

In silence, I am staring at the ceiling, focussing on one little pesky bug that I fear will drop onto me any second now. Now true to Vampire style, I have a great Victorian bed with the red curtains and matching linen to go with that. Well, if you are two-hundred-and-eighty, you grow accustomed to certain things.

Now, something else that I have grown accustomed to for the past year of my Vampire life is these exact words, “Lucas, we have a problem.” My question being, can no one else in this house possess the skill to solve a problem? But, what else is new for me is that Damien is not the one that is knocking at my door.

My beloved has come to inform me that she believes that we have a problem downstairs.

Does the woman think that rephrasing Damien’s sentence somewhat a bit that it shall catch my attention? Though what does baffle me, she is the one that has made me promise her that I shall stop my hunting days. And I am guessing that the only reason they require me downstairs is because they need me to kill something.

Well, what about the Winchester boys are going to kill me do they not understand?

So after much deliberation, I stupidly give into her and make my way downstairs, but not before I remind her, “If that is Stefan, then I am killing all of you in this house.”

“But why me?” she asks me, looking rather confused.

“I am killing Damien because he can not do itself, and then I am killing you for making him convince you to come to call me from the room.”

She grunts at me and snaps her head away from me, “I am only trying to help, and do you think for one second, if it is Stefan, I would still be standing here in this house.”

“Ah, but are you not the one that said he is just a boy?”

“God, Lucas. Do you remember absolutely everything?”

“My beloved, I am married to you. I shall be dead if I forget something that you said.”

Before I can get a very unnecessary slap against the head, I slide a few steps away and descend the stairs. And as I do this, I can hear Damien having a rather pleasant conversation with whom I have no idea.

It can safely say that we have not been taken over by the little boy, Stefan.

I look at my beloved and cock my head at her, “Now, out with it, what problem do we have downstairs.”

She swallows rather deep and looks at me, and smiles, “Oh, did I say problem? I meant to have said someone is downstairs.”

Under a rather irritated breath, I curse and plan how I shall get my revenger for the little stunt that she pulled.

So pushing that thought to the back of my mind, as I come closer to the kitchen, yes, I still do not understand that tradition. I think they might have seen this on some television show and believe that it is normal. But yes, as I come closer to the kitchen, I can hear the voice coming stronger. Well, my dear old Vampire heart skips a beat, and I am pleasantly surprised.

Now, before I turn the corner, I pull my face in a rather peculiar way to wipe the wide-ass smile from my face.

And then I make my entry…

“Now, I never thought the day would come that I shall see you in London?”

“The moment I stepped off that plane, I did remember why I have never liked the place.”

“So, to what do I owe this pleasure, my dear brother.”

Roberto moves somewhat uncomfortably around as he stares down at his feet, now; of course, I know exactly what the man is thinking, but let us let him stew in it a bit. But what I am listening to is not something that I am liking one bit. I think I might just kill him as well.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

After standing for nearly ten minutes in silence, listening to the very inappropriate things that Lilith is thinking of, the complete absence of only ramble in my beloved’s head, I decided that reading minds is not a power that I like to possess.

“Okay, Roberto. Out with it?”

“Now, first of all, I might have stirred a bit of trouble in the little town.”

“Well, that is not new to me at all, but somehow I don’t think that they have thrown out of town.”

“You are indeed correct. The thing is, well, I sort of…”

I immediately interrupt him, “You went and told the damn entire Vampire community that I shall take care of the young Vampire boy that is causing havoc.”

“Yes,” he smiles at me, satisfied. “I told them that you are into this hunting thing and are fighting for all Vampires to be safe from other creatures.”

I step two steps closer to him with the full intention to take him by the collar, “Do you perhaps have any idea who the Winchesters are?”

“Mmm, I believe that they are the best hunters. I for sure shall be terrified of them.”

“Well, good, for I am going to tell him that you told every single Vampire in Scotland that I am going to kill the boy.”

But that is not my concern; I do wish to know why has the Vampires on that side of the world become afraid of the pesky little boy.

“Roberto, please tell me what has the boy done?”

“He is apparently going around killing all the elders, for he has the idea in his head that they possess great power, and if he kills them, then he shall receive their power.”

“Has he killed in Scotland?”

“Well, he is traveling around England. The last time we heard, he was returning to London.”

“Oh, how convenient,” the level of my irritation has now reached an all-time high, “But please explain to me why did you not just phone me?”

“That is a completely different matter, but we can discuss that later.”

“Please do let us do it now; my hand feels the need to slap someone. Damien is too far away from me, and my beloved shall kill me. And those two in the corner should rather return to their room.”

Then the man goes quiet again; I do believe he has a speech problem or he does not know how to communicate successfully with a fellow Vampire. He is probably even worse with a mortal. So once again, I wait patiently, but what I hear does satisfy me a great deal. Now, if he will only say it out loud, then it will make this rather irritating situation far better.

“Lucas,” he finally starts. “If you still have room for me, then is wish to stay. I think I have outgrown Scotland, and your life does seem a lot more interesting with doing all this hunting and all.”

I raise my voice but a level higher and try to imprint this into everybody’s minds, “What part does anybody not understand that the Winchesters will kill me?”

“Ah,” Roberto shrugs me off. “They will not kill the Vampire Master, for I am sure that they cannot kill each Vampire that shall come after them.”

Just then, there is a knock at the door, and I can for certain say that whoever it is will die today. So my beloved, the bearer of bad news, goes to answer, and as I hear the pesky little man speak, my body immediately starts to cringe. As I watch him hug my beloved, I so want to grab the dagger in the drawer and stake him through his heart.

So as he walks in with my beloved, I have great pleasure to introduce him to Roberto, “Roberto, this is Jacob Hunter.”

I see him gulp and step behind me, “Why do you have a Vampire Hunter in your house?”

“This pesky little man used to help us hunt things, but now he does it on his own.”

Roberto relaxes somewhat of a bit but does not leave from behind me while Jacob gives him a hand to greet. But while I do find this hilarious, I do find it strange that the Vampire Hunter has come to my house.

That is when I realize that I have been ambushed. Every single person that made up our little misfit group with one addition is now present in my kitchen.

With a firm stance and a voice raised above all, I try to find the words to explain to them that I refuse to go hunt the boy, but yes, to my own disgust.

“We shall go look for the boy.”

I am so dead.
