The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart

Chapter 36

Chapter 36

Hannah joked, "Girl, your man could be some undercover big shot. You should bring him to the engagement party, give everyone a shock!"

Brittany admired Hannah's wild imagination, "Hannah, you've got such a wild imagination, you should consider becoming a screenwriter."

Hannah seemed a bit disgruntled, "I'm speaking the truth. What if it's the real deal?"

"No way." Brittany felt it was improbable, "He's just an ordinary guy. He didn't even have a job when we met."

Hannah sulked, "Alright, but one of these days, you have to bring him over to meet me."

The probability of a whirlwind marriage to a big shot was too small, but she wanted to make sure this man was trustworthy. She was worried about Brittany living with him.

"Okay."

Brittany finished her resume, changed into a black and white suit, and began putting on makeup. The bruises on her face had considerably faded and were almost unnoticeable after she put on makeup.

After getting herself together, she put on her heels and left.

Upon arriving at Tueley Corporation, Brittany explained her intentions and the receptionist helped her to make an appointment.

After nearly an hour, Brittany finally met Wesley, who was as charming as ever.

"Brittany, what brings you here?"

The secretary brought a cup of water, and Wesley gestured for Brittany to sit down.

Brittany handed over her resume and business plan, "Mr. Tueley, I'm here to propose a collaboration."

A collaboration?

Wesley was puzzled, "Seems like you've left VelvetGlow Jewellery." He had just heard the news this morning that Brittany had resigned voluntarily.

"Yes."

Brittany answered truthfully, "Mr. Tueley, as you might know, given my current reputation, I'm having a hard time finding satisfactory work. Therefore, I'm considering setting up my own business."

Wesley raised his eyebrow, "So?"

"Do you have an interest in jewelry design, Mr. Tueley?"

Wesley got it, "You want me to invest?"Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

He indeed hadn't expected Brittany to come to him, especially after their last encounter didn't go so smoothly.

Brittany knew she couldn't hide it from him, "Yes, I want to collaborate with you, Mr. Tueley. I assure you I'll have my own jewelry brand within three years, and it will definitely be better than the Dustin Group."

All Brittany had to offer was her talent, which was something the Dustin Group could only dream of.

Wesley leaned back in his chair, his eyes studying Brittany, "What's in it for me if I collaborate with you?"

"Thirty percent of the shares."

"Thirty." Wesley seemed to be weighing whether Brittany was worth that much.

Brittany wasn't confident either.

Wesley was a businessman who valued potential and returns. With her tarnished reputation, it was uncertain whether Wesley would agree to the collaboration.

Just when Brittany thought he would decline, Wesley said, "Thirty percent shares are too little."

"What do you suggest then?"

"I'm very impressed with your talent. I can provide you with funding for the next three years. In return, I need 30% of the shares and three opportunities to have jewelry designed by you for free. How does that sound?"

Wesley wasn't short of money, but if he was to invest, he wanted something in return. Brittany's talent was well known, but starting her own business wasn't going to be easy, hence he needed more benefits.

Brittany hesitated for a moment, then nodded in agreement, "Okay, I accept."

Wesley was impressed with Brittany's decisiveness and decided to invest 5 million right away. Brittany took the check and left Wesley's office.

Walking on the busy street, Brittany held the check in her hand, her heartbeat accelerating.

Once she got into her car to go home, her phone rang. It was a call from William.

"Bri, why did you quit?"

William had returned to Velvet Glow Jewellery after being discharged from the hospital, only to find out that Brittany had resigned. "William, you're out of the hospital?"

Brittany had been so busy these past few days, resigning, renting a place, moving... She was run off her feet. She was too busy to even take care of her own matters, let alone worry about William.

"Yes, but why did you quit?"

William felt that something was off. Brittany had successfully created jewellery for two orders, so why would she quit voluntarily?
