After Divorcing my Captain Husband (Chloe and Michael)

Chapter 658

Chapter 658 Wanting to Make Things Easier for Her

James was being as stubborn as ever, which infuriated Admas. Not wanting to give himself a heart attack from frustration, Admas got up and headed to the backyard to admire the flowers, hoping that would help him calm down. Meanwhile, Chloe had arrived at the supermarket, with Michael trailing behind her, pushing the shopping cart.

Beef Bolognese was the first dish Chloe had learned to cook, which was taught to her by Wendy.

She hadn't made it in a long time and wasn't even sure if she still remembered how.

As she picked out ingredients in the vegetable section, Michael followed her quietly, his expression somewhat unreadable. Seemed he was upset about something.

It wasn't until he noticed that the vegetables in the cart were all his favorites that his mood suddenly lifted.

He glanced up at Chloe, who was walking ahead of him, carefully selecting the ingredients she needed. All the items in the cart were things she had grabbed subconsciously. A wave of warmth washed over Michael's heart.

She still remembered what he liked and disliked, and not a single thing he didn't like was in the cart.

Realizing that, his mood brightened considerably, and even his steps became lighter. From NôvelDrama.Org.

Chloe, walking ahead, was completely unaware of his thoughts.

She focused solely on the vegetables, considering what she could or could not cook and what combinations would taste best.

She wasn't thinking about Michael at all!

They filled the cart, and as they were about to head to the checkout, Chloe noticed Michael had stopped in his tracks, staring at something.

She walked back and found him looking at baby formula.

"Let's go."

Chloe called to him.

Michael turned to her and said, "Chloe, which brand of baby formula do you think is best?"

"Why do you care about that?"

"I heard that breastfeeding can be really painful, so I was thinking if formula could work, it might make things easier for you."

Ever since he found out she was pregnant, Michael had been reading up on pregnancy, learning that it was far from easy and childbirth was like a brush with death.

He worried about her enduring pain and even more about her developing health problems because of the baby.

So, he kept thinking of ways to make things easier for her.

Chloe turned to look at him, pressing her lips together. "It's way too early to be worrying about that. And besides, it's not even your baby."

She said the last part with little confidence.

Hearing this, the light in Michael's eyes dimmed briefly, but he quickly returned to his usual self.

"That's okay. I'll love your baby just the same. I can be the godfather."

Chloe was momentarily speechless. She thought, "My baby isn't even born yet and already has two godfathers.

And one of them is the real father."

"Let's just go."

Chloe pulled him away from the

baby formula aisle. When they

reached the checkout, Chloe hant

Michael her band card. "You pay while I run to the restroom"

Being pregnant, she found herself needing to use the restroom more frequently.

"Do you need me to go with you?"

Chloe shot him a glare. "Can you go into the women's restroom?"

Michael fell silent, knowing full well he couldn't.

In the restroom, Chloe found an empty stall. As she was about to leave, she heard a knocking sound coming from the stall next to her.

"Um... excuse me, do you have any extra toilet paper? I've run out, and I can't get out."

Chloe was a bit surprised but quickly responded, "I have some. Here, use this."

She passed the rest of her tissue pack under the stall door, and the woman on the other side immediately responded with gratitude, "Thank you so much,

you're a lifesaver."

Chloe noticed the woman had long, sharp nails, and one of them almost scratched her wrist as she took the tissue.

Chloe let out a small gasp, and the woman quickly apologized, "I'm so sorry! I was in a hurry. Did I hurt you?"

Chloe looked at her wrist, which was only slightly scratched with no bleeding, and replied softly, "No, it's fine." Helping someone out in the restroom wasn't anything unusual for Chloe.

Just as she thought the situation was resolved and was about to leave, the woman in the next stall

spoke again, "Miss, I, um... I dranket

some slimming water today, and now I've got an upset stomach. I didn't wear any underwear, so could you possibly buy me a pair from the supermarket?"
