The corners of Frederick's mouth lifted into a smile, but his eyes were filled with a gloomy look.

When they returned to the hotel, Alicia had already fallen asleep. Frederick carried her to the entrance, and she only opened her eyes because of the noisy guests and car engines.

Alicia yawned and struggled to jump down. "Honey? Have we arrived? Why didn't you wake me up?"

She straightened out her shirt and leaned against his side, her body was soft and limp. She stealthily yawned and said, "Oh dear, I'm so sleepy." He held her in front of him and said with a faint smile, "Let's go. You can sleep more once we get back to the room."

"Okay."

Frederick held her as they entered the elevator, and he carried her leather bag and some little trinkets she'd bought on his other hand. He cared for her all the way. The door of the elevator gradually closed, and Danica's head slowly poked out from the aisle. She couldn't help but clench her fist a few times. A trace of viciousness flashed in her eyes.

After their day out, Alicia was exhausted. When she returned to her room, she did not even wash up. Instead, she climbed into her bed and fell asleep. In the end, Frederick helped her change her clothes.

After that, Frederick sat at the bedside until midnight. He didn't ponder or do anything. He just stared at her. His deep eyes looked extremely wistful. The next day, Frederick accompanied her on a short trip around. When Alicia wanted to take photos, he went along with her. With a camera, they took some intimate photos. Alicia was elated. Frederick carried her when she was tired, and he fetched water and food for her whenever she needed them. The little bit of doubt in her heart became faint and blurred because of his extreme affection.

They casually visited quite a number of places. At noon, Frederick booked a hotel room for her because she was sleepy. However, when the sunset, she still felt unsatisfied while her smile carried a hint of fatigue. On their way back, she took Frederick's hand and slowed down her pace.

"We should travel every year. It won't take long, just a couple of days is fine. It doesn't matter where we go. I just want to travel with you every year. I want a time where we can be ourselves and not have anyone disturb us."

Under the glow of the setting sun, Alicia was content as she looked at their intertwined hands.

"Just like today. I feel like I'm so in love! What do you think?"

It felt so good, and it was beautiful indeed!

She didn't expect to be in love like this every day. She only wanted to have this blissful moment once a year. It was enough to keep things fresh between them.

Frederick nodded and pulled up her hand. He placed his lips on the back of it and planted a few kisses. "Okay. As long as you're happy."

Then, they turned to look lovingly at one another. Frederick lowered his head to give her a deep kiss, holding the back of her head in his grasp and pulling her to his chest.

"Ally, you have to remember that I only have eyes for you. I will never replace you with others. You must believe me, okay?"

Most importantly, she had to wait for him. She could never give up on him!

Frederick raised his head and closed his eyes. Unconsciously, his breathing became heavier.

Listening to his heartbeat, Alicia didn't think too much about it even if she felt that something was off. She was surrounded by extreme warmth and happiness, and she instinctively nodded.

"Of course I believe in you! If I didn't, how could I wholeheartedly give myself to you?"

As she raised her hands, Alicia curled her arms around his neck. Her eyes were filled with as much passion as a roaring flame.

"Honey, I thought that after I was seriously hurt last time, I wouldn't have the ability to love anyone else. But now, I know that what doesn't kill me makes me stronger so that can meet a better person. I thought that I would never love anyone else again, but it was all because haven't met the person who could make me brave enough to love again. Now, I've met that person! Honey, I only have eyes for you too! I love you just as much as you love me, anytime, any place..."

Alicia pressed her face against his chest and uttered with sincerity.

"Our love should be protected well. No one is allowed to give up easily until the last moment! I believe that we will not let each other go! Honey, as long as you love me, you are mine! No one can take you away from me!"

Alicia's muttering seemed to calm Frederick

down.

He knew that in her heart, at least he was comparable to Jeremy. If she could wait for him for the past three years, he firmly believed that this hardship would not become an obstacle between the two of them.

If it weren't for the unique illness in her body, he wouldn't have chosen to hide it from her.

He caressed her hair gently and rubbed against her nose intimately. Finally, a smile appeared on his lips.

"It's getting dark. Let's go back. It's time to feed my little glutton."

They had prepared some snacks for whenever she got peckish, but she had secretly finished them all before noon. She even had to replenish the food once at noon.

"Let's go to that restaurant. I'm craving for egg-fried rice!"

"Egg-fried rice?"

Stroking her hair, Frederick couldn't help but let out a laugh. "Haha, sure!"

He was craving some dumplings as well.

As he spoke, Frederick carried her to one side, and they were chatting and laughing. However, no one noticed that a figure had been following them a distance away.

By the time they returned, it was

already nine o'clock. The two of them simply washed up and then went to bed early. They had an. itinerary for tomorrow, but Alicia felt really tired. She lingered in bed and finally canceled the plan.

She spent her whole morning sleeping, while Frederick was quietly dealing with work. When he was free, his eyes were focused on one point.

After lunch, the phone rang as Alicia was wondering what to do for the day.

Upon hearing her phone ring, Frederick clenched his fists. Before he could come back to his senses, Alicia had already pulled out her suitcase hurriedly.

"Honey, my brother just called and told me he has gone overseas. My dad's condition deteriorated a little, and he's having problems with his digestive system. Thankfully, it's almost time for his treatment and my brother plans to send him to the hospital he's been looking into. After all, he's familiar with the staff there and they've recently introduced new technologies to help my dad, so he wants me to help my dad over there. Right now, I have to go home and accompany my parents to my dad's medical check-up. After my brother shows up, we can reconfirm what's going on and we'll have time to prepare."

Swallowing thickly, Frederick pretended to be indifferent and said, "I have a few large contracts recently that can't be left aside, and I have to stay in Buranda for a few days. I may not be able to accompany you."

"You don't have to come along. I'm used to it, so I can do it alone! It's just physical therapy and a check-up. With mom and the servant's help, you don't have to worry!"

"Alright. I'll arrange everything for you. If you need anything, call me at any time!"
