Chapter 53 Rescue
Chapter 53 Rescue
Initially, I wanted to reject Gavin's suggestion. But he mentioned that Edward had specifically requested
to invite the two of us. It would be bad if I did not go, so I could only reluctantly show up.
Gavin did not take it seriously and said, "What's wrong with you? Edward just invited you for a dinner,
and you don't need to take it seriously. It's nothing, we're friends."
That was also the reason, but there was still a suspicion in my heart. But I was not sure what it was, so
I could only persuade myself to be more reassured.
Today, Gavin was probably exhausted. After washing up, he lay down and fell aslept. He just took my
hand, without doing anything else. All night without a dream.
Edward's dinner party was not big. It was a famous private restaurant in Aurora. When I was a child, I
had heard of this restaurant, but I had never been there. When Gavin knew about it, he said jokingly.
"This is also your dream when you were a child."
I said, "Hum, my childhood dream was not so specific."
Edward was very happy to see us, and he was much more outgoing than the last time we met. When it
was so far away, Gavin whispered to me. "Hey, you see, he just came out of the sorrow of love."
I smiled at Edward and said hello to him. He also smiled and said, "Oh, thank you, Miss. Back. Even I
didn't get it done, but you succeeded as soon as you came."
I said, "No, no, it's all a coincidence. You've laid the groundwork in front, and I'll just give them the last
blow."
Gavin smiled proudly, "Well, this was a critical blow, or we couldn't defeat the enemy."
I had a hard time eating this meal, but Gavin was very happy. I didn't know what Edward was thinking.
After all, I didn't know him. Even if he smiled, I wasn't sure if it was a real smile.
Edward asked Gavin, "Gavin, who will keep an eye on this project then?"
"I haven't thought about it yet. If it doesn't work, let Matt keep an eye on it. It was originally his work."
Edward thought for a while and agreed with Gavin, "Yes, I heard about him. It's pretty unfair, not
entirely his fault."
Gavin nodded and said, "That's who the murderer behind the scenes is. There's still no evidence. "
Edward looked into Gavin's eyes and asked, "Listen to you, do you have a clue?
"Of course, I am not an idiot. I still don't understand this shit? "
Edward was silent for a while and suddenly said, "Forget it. We're here have a meal, not to talk about
work. Darcey, have some more."
The gathering ended quickly, Gavin had to return to Denver soon. But at this time, a phone call made
everyone thrown into confusion.
Goran called at the hotel, "Mr. Stone, please come back soon. Something went wrong!"
Gavin asked in a low voice, "What happened?"
"Matt just came to us and said that his family was kidnapped!"
"What?" Gavin hung up the phone and urged the taxi driver to leave. The driver did not dare to stay too
long, neither did I dare to ask.
After arriving at the hotel, he saw Matt's middle-aged fat and full of vicissitudes from a distance. Gavin
rushed up to him and asked, "What's wrong? What the hell happened?"
Matt seemed to have been pretty shocked. He grabbed Gavin and stammered, "I don't know.I haven't
been out much lately. Today, I went to send my children to school. When I came back, my wife
disappeared. I panicked and hurried back to find the children, but the children were not at
school. The teacher did not know but said they were took away by their mother! "
Gavin patted Matt's shoulder comfortingly and said, "Don't worry. Did anyone say what it was for?
Money? Or something else?"
Matt looked so anxious that he was about to cry, "No, just because he didn't say anything, I..."
He stopped in the middle of his speech, it seemed that he was indeed in a mess.
Gavin thought about it and said, "Since we don't know anything at present, we can't call the police. You
go back first, I'll find a way."
Matt said, "Mr. Stone, please! The lives of our family are in your hands!"
"Okay, okay." Gavin let Goran and Candice send away the Matt. After thinking about it, he called
Edward.
Fortunately, Edward had not left Aurora, so we had some motivation.
After seeing Edward, Gavin said. "I've asked all the questions, but I didn't get anything. You have a
relationship in Aurora. Think about it and see if you can check the surveillance footage or something."
"Okay, I'll make a few phone calls." Edward also looked anxious, he probably knew who was behind
this.
Later, Edward took us to the school of Matt’s children. After discussing with another strange man, we
began to search around the school.
We finally saw it at the door of a shop. It was indeed the wife of Matt who took the child, but the
appearance of the two people looked abnormal. After that, they got on a worn van and disappeared
completely.
Fortunately, the license plate was captured. And he checked the location and found a relatively remote
village in the suburbs of Aurora.
Gavin and Edward were going to set off, saying that they would let me go back to the hotel first and go
back to Denver with Candice and Goran.
Those people was obviously coming for Gavin. How could I let him go? "No, I can't go back. It's so
dangerous. If you go alone, I'm not at ease. I'll go with you." Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
Gavin said, "How was that possible? I went with Edward, not alone. You can rest assured."
I was anxious, "But one more person, one more strength, isn't it? I won't make more trouble for you,
really."
Edward suddenly said, "Let Darcey go, it's not far away anyway. Didn't she say the dialects here?
Maybe she can help us."
Gavin was still worried about me, "But what if something happens?"
Edward said, "It's okay. If anything happens, let's rush to the front and protect her."
Gavin thought for a moment and asked me, "You sure you can do this?"
I nodded desperately and said, "100%. I promise not to make any trouble for you."
Gavin finally agreed, "Well... okay. Be careful. Don't be impulsive. Don't get into trouble."
I nodded, and everyone rushed to the remote village overnight.
The village was very small, and the villagers had already fallen asleep. There were few street lights on
the road. It was quiet and a little scary.
Fortunately, the village was not large and there were not many cars. We took a few turns to find the trail
of the van. It stopped in a dark courtyard which looked old and old, covered with weeds. The
atmosphere was getting more and more horrible.
I was originally following Gavin and others. Gavin was worried about me, so he asked me to move
forward between them so that no one could attack me from behind.
