Chapter 8 (Part 3)
“Maybe, she’s really that girl. God, I thought she’s beautiful…”
“She’s probably just flirting with Azel, that’s why they are always together.”
“She’s not even satisfied yet, she’s flirting with the triplets! My god!”
When I noticed students staring at me, my brow furrowed. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed them staring at me. Surprisingly, it seems that I am the one they are referring to.
I simply bowed my head. Seraphina, what do you expect? That they will treat you as if you were a regular student here? You just wish, Sera, it’s not going to happen. Not in this lifetime. Even if you continue to shed blood. No one will feel sorry for you if you bend down and slide in the mud. Maybe some of them, but they’re not going to help you.
I was about to ignore them when I noticed Eyla approaching me. She was so enraged. Her piercing gaze was fixed on me.
My eyes widened, and I quickly gathered my belongings and prepared to leave, but they already grabbed my arm.
I promised myself that the next time I saw Eyla, I would leave on my own. But I’m having a bad day today.
They pushed me out of the library. My other belongings have fallen to the ground because of their extreme violence of them overpowering me. Some students were mocking me as they looked at me. Others felt sorry for me, but they never tried to help me. I bowed my head and burst into tears. Over and over. Is this a punishment?
They led me to the back of the building. There was no one else there, and there were only four of us. I was sobbing quietly as I tried to put my long white dress back on. My books and other belongings are somewhere I no longer know. I adjusted my eyeglasses and wiped away the dripping tears. I looked at them as if to ask.
But all they do is slap me. As they slapped me, my hand automatically went to my cheek. My sobs became audible. They gave me a few slaps and nudges. And I’ve never had the tenacity to fight back. This is something I really don’t want.
Every time they land their hand on my skin, it stings. They will scratch my arm as well. My dress is already dirty, especially after they pushed me. It hurts, but I did nothing. I just let them because I’m too weak to stop them.
“Stop flirting with my boyfriend, you little bitch.” I immediately shook my head while still crying.
“You’re still denying it, aren’t you? Do you think we have no idea what you’re up to? You didn’t even let Samel or Nazel pass with your coquettishness. Is that your true nature?”Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
One of Eyla’s friends pushed me once more. I’m not sure what they’re talking about. I just sat there crying, accepting their hurtful words and slaps.
But I came to a halt when they started throwing pictures at me; it was me and the triplets. Even though my vision was blurred from tears, I was able to see what was in the picture. It was me, staring intently at Azazel.
“Tell me it’s not you. That you didn’t flirt with my boyfriend, even though there’s evidence that you did.” Eyla said, her teeth clenched.
I saw one of her friends hand her a phone. She approached me and pulled my hair back so I could look at her.
“Keep an eye on it!” They made me watch a video, it was a video where Azazel and I were kissing in the library. My pupils dilated. W-Why is there such a thing? Why do they have a video?
“Let your imagination run wild, bitch! You really dared to flirt with Azel? Then what? Who’s next on your list? Samel and Nazel? What a slut!”
I wept and bowed my head. Apologizing for what I did. They slapped me again and dragged me out. They scratched me again, and this time it was so deep that it bled. There was nothing I could do but cry and cry.
“Stop going to see Azazel Galdevero and his twins. He’s the man I’m dating. They were just fooling around with you. They weren’t crazy to approach you and make friends. Don’t expect Azel to date you; he was just horny at the time because I didn’t give in to him.” Before they finally left, she threw something at my photo. It was her and Azazel. Azazel is hugging her from behind while they both smile.
What I saw made my heart clench in pain. I broke down and cried even more. I’m not sure what’s going on with me. All I know is that I am hurt because of what I found and because they are simply playing games with me. Simply put, I was just too gullible. Too silly at all.
As I attempted to stand, I sobbed. But, in my weakness, I sat down again. They slapped me again before leaving. And all I could do was cry quietly.
I’m not even sure how long I was there. Even when it rained, I was oblivious. Heaven seems to be feeling what I’m feeling, and it ought to be keeping up. How heinous. I just want to vanish like a bubble. Particularly how I feel.
I lay down on the ground on my own and let the rain fall on me. I pressed my lips together and closed my eyes. I could hear myself sobbing softly. I’m truly pitiful.
I felt a presence a few moments later. I noticed a woman, the same one I had met the previous time. Her name, as far as I recall, is Kate. She was looking at me softly. Her eyes were filled with sympathy for me. But I’m not asking for pity from her. That is the last thing I want in this world.
She had an umbrella in her hand. I averted my gaze and stared up at the sky. The sky, like the people’s hearts, is dark. Dark and ruthless.
I just wish…
“Aren’t you cold, Seraphina?” Kate asked.
I just gave a lifeless smile. “I’m u-used t-to it-t-t.”
“You’re drenched. Let’s go home, shall we?”
I sobbed even more. I don’t have a place to call home. I have nothing but a house. I have no one to go home to except myself. My parents passed away. And my family… no, my grandmother despises me. I’m completely alone. How unfortunate.
Kate let out a sigh. Then she came over to me and offered to help me. Only half of my body is now drenched.
“Perhaps your friends are worried about you right now?” I smirked and turned to face her.
“I-I d-don’t h-ha-v-ve f-fr-riends,” I stated.
She was taken aback, but only for a split second. She gave me a friendly smile. Then she extended her hand to me.
“I’m your friend, then…”
