Chapter 68 Transfer the Money to Him
The corridor was quiet, everyone had closed their doors and fallen into a deep sleep. Louis looked toward the balcony at the end of the hallway.
He noticed a slender figure and upon closer inspection, it turned out to be Blanche.
Louis slid one hand into his pocket, lightly rubbing his thumb and forefinger together as he approached Blanche. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
With her hands on the railing, she was gazing down at the orchard below the mountain.
"What are you looking at?" A deep voice came from behind her.
Blanche turned her head and saw Louis, with his extraordinary aura, approaching her.
Wasn't he supposed to be taking a nap?
Blanche gestured toward the mountain below and said, "The orchard down there."
Without a word, Louis followed her gaze to the mountain below. His eyes then fell on the cause of his sleeplessness: Blanche's long legs.
They were long, straight, and white. Louis swallowed hard.
Blanche felt heat in her legs and looked at Louis, who quickly averted his gaze, but she sensed something was off about his look just now.
Blanche pulled her legs in, covered her mouth with her hand, and pretended to be sleepy, hoping to get out of there.
"I'm going to take a nap."
As Blanche attempted to leave, Louis stepped forward, blocking her path with his broad chest. She almost bumped into him, and their bodies were almost touching.
Blanche's heartbeat quickened. "What are you doing?"
"You asked for the key to my room, but you're not staying there?" Louis looked down at her, his gaze fixed on her head thick with hair.
His husky voice floated above Blanche's head, sending a jolt through her.
"I'm injured. It's not convenient to sleep on the sofa. I need to rest properly."
"Is that the reason?"
Confronted with Louis' probing gaze, Blanche steeled herself and replied, "Yeah."
Who would want to share a room with him? Wasn't it more comfortable and quieter to have a room to herself?
Blanche needed to get away from Louis, who was acting strangely today and making her uneasy. It was better to keep her distance.
"I'm really tired. Please step aside and let me go take a nap," Blanche yawned.
"Hasn't anyone told you that you blink a lot when you lie?" Louis remarked.
Blanche stopped in her tracks. She was usually good at putting on shows, and no one had ever seen them through.
After being exposed, Blanche moved a little to the side, making Louis feel uncomfortable.
He couldn't understand why she was still resistant to him, even though she was using the perfume he had given her. Was she playing hard to get? He thought she should seize the opportunity to impress him.
Louis stepped forward, forcing Blanche to step back.
Eric's voice came from behind them. Talking on the phone, he was heading toward the balcony.
"Hello, I'm picking oranges in the orchard. Of course, it's fun..."
Blanche whispered, "What are you doing? Someone's coming."
Louis' dry throat bobbed. "Ignore him. The scent on you is very nice. Are you used to the perfume I bought?"
The closer Louis got, the more intoxicating the scent of the perfume became. It lingered in his nostrils, utterly enticing. He even wanted to pick up a strand of her hair and smell it.
Blanche was confused. Did he say that he had bought the perfume? She was taken aback.
"Isn't this perfume a gift from my best friend, Erin?"
"Your best friend? Then where did the perfume I ordered go? Eaten by a dog?"
Blanche was left speechless. She had planned to ask Erin if she had given her the perfume, but Nicole's call had upset her, and she had forgotten to ask about it.
When she went out that day, she assumed the perfume was from Erin, so she sprayed it on herself.
"I thought it was a gift from Erin, so I used it. I swear, I didn't know you bought it."
Louis was pissed off. So, she had used the perfume not because it was from him, but because she thought it was from her best friend.
"How much does it cost? I'll transfer the money to you."
Blanche felt extremely embarrassed. She didn't like taking advantage of others, and being caught doing so made her feel uncomfortable.
But why would a man like Louis buy perfume with such good taste? It must have been for some woman.
Blanche took out her phone and opened the transfer window with a depressed expression.
What did she think she was doing? Louis felt as if his heart was being twisted like a knife. Blanche was really trying to drive him crazy.
