CAST OUT

Chapter 45

Sally Brown.

“She owns the restaurant over there.” Aziel pointed as they looked from the car. He was feeling nervous all of a sudden. Why would he feel nervous. For the woman who abandoned him, left him alone didn’t care if she had a son. Why didn’t bother searching for someone who doesn’t want him. Probably living her own life, remarried and having her own kids. He wasn’t in the picture. There she was. Standing by the door of the restaurant. She was staring at their car. Wondering who was in there. She had an apron around her waist. Her hair was having a mixture of grey and brown. She wore a blue sleeve gown. With a sandal on her feet. She appeared quite old for her age. Maybe he was wrong, she wasn’t doing so well herself.

He opened the car door and came out with his sunglasses. She seems frightened when he began approaching her. He stopped he doesn’t wanna seem frighten to her. He removed the glass from his eyes and tucks them away.

Aizel remain seated in the car. Observing from where he sat in the car.

She looked more frightened. As if her knees got weaken. She fell on the ground.

Before he could reach out to her someone else did.

“Mom!” She hurried to her on the ground, helping her back on her feet.

“I’m fine. Go back inside. Nothing is wrong. Just a little tired.”

“You should rest. Come in. Let’s go in.”

“No, you go in. I’ll join you shortly.”

“Mom.”

“Go In.”

The girl grumbled and throw a glance at Kenzo. Kenzo hid his face so she doesn’t got to see him. Backing her. The girl grumbled and walked back inside. Sally stood up, leaning on the door of the restaurant.

Kenzo turned to face her again. But didn’t move an inch from where he stood.

She was staring at him. With different emotions pouring through her. She took a step towards him. Staggering as she walks to him.

“Kenzo..” she cried.

“You know me. You remember.”

“How can a mother forget her own son.” She touched his face with her fragile hands. Then removed it and covered her mouth with her hands. Crying into them.

“Let’s talk in the car.” He suggested. She nods and followed him. Towards the car. She stopped just a few inches away from where the car was parked.

“There’s a small cafe over there. It would be more appropriate. To discuss there. And you should wear you glass. You’re quite famous around here.”This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

Kenzo nodded and put the glass back on. Following her lead. Towards the cafe.

“I’m so sorry.” She said once they settle down with a cup of coffee each on their table.

“Why did you leave me? Seems you’re doing well over here, I thought you would be in China or New York, never thought I would see you here. In Vietnam.”

“I moved back here after my second husband was killed by the mafia. I had to move to Vietnam. If I could get away from them. They won’t stop until they kill me.”

“Never knew about that.”

“I was hunted by them. That’s why I couldn’t take you along with me that night. While I flee, I was shot. My recent husband was the one who saved me then. He took me far away. But they found us. After five years and killed him. This time I was able to escape with my daughter we came here to Vietnam and we’ve been living in peace since then.”

She sips from the coffee.

“Why did you join them. Why did you become part of the mafia gang.”

“If you didn’t leave me behind I won’t have been the person I was. I wouldn’t have met Emilio. I won’t have been a mafia.”

She cried.

“I couldn’t take you with me. I couldn’t do it.”

“Why? You were able to take this daughter of yours.”

“Because I sinned against your father. He wanted to leave the mafia because of me. But he was already made top of it. He had a lot of enemies. Lord Gilbert and savage. Wanted him dead. And same with Brennon. They never wanted him there. I could understand Brennon’s hate. He was my first love we dated for ten years. Then he travel out of the country then and when he came back. I was already married to your father. And he was married to his present wife… you shouldn’t have gone into the gang. You shouldn’t have Kenzo. I thought you would be better off with him. That’s why I left. I never knew you would only got to live the life I never wanted you to live.”

“What did you do?” He asked in a threatening tone.

“I got pregnant for him. Not your father.”

“What!” He hits the table hard. Making the coffee jolted and spill on the table.

“I’m so sorry. I thought you knew.”

“Why? Why him. It could have been someone else why does he has to be my father. Why?” His eyes got crowded with tears. She reached out to his hands and tried to touch him. She held his hands when she eventually got a hold of him.

“That’s my sin. That’s why I couldn’t take you with me. I was poor. He was rich and could take care of you.”

“If I had gone with you being poor. It would have been better. I never felt…” He covered his eyes.

“.. for once that I had a father. I thought I was adopted. That I was just some orphan. I left. Because I wanted to prove to him. That I didn’t need him to survive. I got this far because I wanted to surpass him in wealth and everything. Because I was just a rejected child no one loved. I never went to school or enjoy anything. I was tortured. I was beaten. I was hated.”

Sally was crying now.

“It’s all my fault.”

“It is.”

“Now I regret my decision so bad. I would have taken you with me. But you would have been killed by savage, he’s still after me. I almost died that night. He save me. I thought Brennon was your father, he would save you, he would protect you from those men from Savage. He was your father’s enemy. I’m sorry Kenzo. For everything you went through.”

“Does he know, is he aware of who I’m to him.”

“Yes. We did a DNA test. He’s aware even his wife is too. Expect the other son. Since she got him from someone else.”

“Where was your husband then?”

“Already dead.”

So who I’m?”

“You’re Kenzo Brennon”
