Chapter 2317

Charlie and Carson Foster, along with their friends, spent the afternoon visiting the Jarvis family.

Emily and Kya had been here before, and Old Mr. Jarvis, knowing they were coming, had prepared a special New Year's gift for Kya.

For Magdalen Sampson, being at the Jarvis home felt like being at her own.

The others were first-timers; though they had heard of the Jarvis family's longstanding wealth, they were still awestruck upon seeing it in person.

The group gathered in the living room, chatting around Old Mr. Jarvis. Contrary to the rumors of him being cranky and difficult, they found him warm, friendly, and easy to talk to.

Old Mr. Jarvis took Kya to see his fish, and she, in her childlike voice, told him about the animals in her "zoo" at home, inviting him to come and see. Laughing, he asked, "Do you have fish in your zoo?"

Kya thought for a moment, "No."

Immediately, Old Mr. Jarvis had someone catch two red arowana from his pond to give to Kya.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Back in J City, the James family even built a fish pond in their garden for the arowana, but that's a story for another time.

At that moment, Kya's eyes twinkled with joy as she looked at the arowana in a small tank.

After a walk in the yard, Magdalen went looking for Estelle, "Where's the beauty Sylvia? I left her here, but now she's gone."

Estelle chuckled, "How could I lose Sylvia?"

"Where did she go?"

Estelle explained, "She went with her brother to visit an elder. You'll see her tomorrow."

"A family visit together? Sounds promising!" Magdalen was excited. "Come on, spill the beans. What's been happening here? Any progress with Gab?"

"There's progress. You should be getting your matchmaker's fee soon!"

"Perfect!" Magdalen snapped her fingers, proud, "Feeling accomplished!"

Estelle, sitting on a wooden fence, swinging her legs, said, "Tonight, we toast to your wise decision."

Magdalen leaned in, "Can we sneak in some wine?"

Estelle frowned, "Might not be possible."

"They won't find out."

Estelle considered, "I'll get some cider, but you must drink less!"

"Long live Ella!" Magdalen hugged Estelle, nuzzling into her embrace.

Estelle looked up to see a girl standing with Andrew, "What's Andrew's fiancée's name?"

Magdalen glanced over her

shoulder, "I think her name is

Estelle asked, "Weren't they supposed to marry before New Year's? What happened?"

Magdalen explained, "Susanna's grandmother passed away, so the wedding was postponed."

Estelle nodded slightly, letting the topic go.

As dusk approached, the group drove to the Lamont Estate.

The servant paused, "Where to?"

"Downstairs, or next door, anywhere," Marina said.

Carson leaned against the door, watching the servants move about, a smirk on his face, "Why so nervous?"
