Chapter 25~ The deadline
Chapter 25- The deadline
Days came and went....
Finally, the deadline for the competition had arrived and everyone was looking forward to seeing the new designs of the two women.
In the last week, the competition between the famous designer and the daughter of two famous designers was all that was being talked about in the entertainment and business news, so everyone wanted to know the outcome.
That morning, when Lora arrived at the company, she bumped into Ivy Williams. She rolled her eyes as she thought, Just my luck to meet this troublesome woman as soon as I get to work."
Ivy didn't miss an opportunity to provoke Lora. She stopped her wheelchair in Lora's way and said in a taunting voice, "Miss Davis, I'll give you a chance to forfeit the match before we go to the conference room. It would be embarrassing if you made a fool of yourself by copying my design and showing it to everybody once again."
"Why are you so anxious on my behalf, Miss Williams? Don't worry, I'm very confident in my work," Lora responded and began to walk away. et dies
"Why can't you just disappear
leave Ryan alone?! He's mine!" Ivy yelled.
Lora paused and turned to glance at Ivy before saying, "I'm not interested in someone's trash."
""You-"
Ivy clenched her hands
fists as Lora walked away. She glared at her with hatred and thought, "Just
you wait, Lora. After today, Ryan will never want to see you again."
At the same time, Lora walked to her office and found Hannah Collins, her assistant. She was holding a bouquet of red roses.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
Lora arched an eyebrow. She asked, "Are you getting me flowers now, Hannah?"
Hannah grinned from ear to ear. She replied, "No, Ma'am. These flowers were left by Mr Anderson. There's even a card inside."
Lora smiled. She hadn't seen Jason in a while since she wanted to concentrate on the design. She got the flowers and removed the card to read it. [Wishing you the best today.]
A bigger smile played on Lora's lips. She glanced at Hannah and instructed, "Bring a vase and put these flowers."
"Just like Mr Anderson, I'm wishing you the best too. I know you're going to win this boss," Hannah
remarked.
Lora nodded and asked, "Is everything ready?"
"Yes, I've prepared everything." Hannah replied.
Lora smirked and said, "Then we are set."
Chapter 25- The deadline
Soon, it was time to gather in the conference room for the two women to present their designs. Ryan had called three jewelry critiques to act as the judges for the competition to make it fair. Ivy was quick to start. She wheeled herself to the front and said, "I spent sleepless nights on this design. Please be nice."
After those words, she presented her work on the whiteboard with the help of her colleague. As soon as everyone saw the drawings, a few gasps echoed around the room.
Bella Smith was the first to praise Ivy's work. She exclaimed, "Wow! Miss Williams, your new design is so good. How did you manage to create two amazing designs in a short period of time?" The other employees complimented Ivy's work too
"Oh my... I wish I was as talented as you, Miss Williams
"Talented is an understatement. You're a genius, Miss Williams!"
"I would like you to be my mentor. I've always wished to reach this level in my design career."
"Without seeing the other design, you've already won this competition, Miss Williams."
At the same time, Lora's eyes w I need in shock when she saw Ivy's work. When everyone saw Lora's expression, they thought she had thrown in the towel.
Ivy secretly smirked before looking at Lora with a sympathetic gaze. She asked, "Miss Davis, are you ok?"
She didn't wait for Lora to respond and continued, "Don't worry if your design is not good. With practice,
I'm sure you will reach my level soon."
Sighing, she added, "I understand you very well, Miss Davis. After all, you only studied design for a few years and lack experience in this area. I don't expect you to be as good as me who's been doing this for a long time. However, as long as you practice well and change your mindset of plagiarising, you will definitely be able to create your own work in the future."
"Does that mean Miss Davis copied Miss Williams' work again? One of the employees asked.
"I think so... she looks so shocked that Miss Williams presented first. I'm sure she wanted to do it first
and act like she designed the work. She's so lucky Miss Williams is a good person."
"Wow, indeed, you're the kindest, Miss Williams. You're so generous. Even after your work was stolen, you're still trying to help the thief," Bella Smith remarked.
"Wait, aren't you people being ridiculous? Miss Davis hasn't even presented her work yet!" Hannah couldn't help but say.
"Isn't it obvious from her reaction that she stole Miss Williams' work again? She doesn't even dare say anything. How shameless."
"I'm sure she will be banned from the design Industry now."
"She just has to be banned! We don't want anyone who has no morals and steals other people's work with no shame!"
Bella glanced at Ivy and said, "Miss Williams, we are sorry you had to go through this. I know how it feels.

to work so hard and have someone steal your work. Some people tried to be like you but their plans failed. You're still the best of the best!"
"Oh, please... don't flatter me. I try my best and I hope Miss Davis will do the right thing from now on," Ivy remarked. She looked at Ryan and added, "Don't report Miss Davis, Ryan. She just needs time to hone her skills."
Ryan stared at Lora and when he saw how quiet she was, he felt a little sympathetic towards her. He asked, "Miss Davis, do you have anything else to say?"
Lora suddenly laughed.
