Her Return, His Regret

Chapter 38~ An apology

Chapter 38- An apology

Meanwhile, Ivy's phone buzzed and she checked the message she had received.

Her eyes turned vicious when she saw the photos on her phone. She dug her nails into her palms, anger bubbling up within her.

The private investigator she had hired just sent her photos of Lora. However, she didn't expect to see Ryan in those photos.

'Ryan, why do you keep follow..g Lora around? She's not working with you anymore...' Ivy thought in her mind.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

Deep down, she knew the reason Ryan couldn't stay away from Lora. It was because Lora looked like his late wife. Perhaps like her, Ryan also wanted to confirm Lora's identity.

Ivy couldn't have that. She had to find out before Ryan so that she could get rid of Lora and her kids. After enduring for many years, waiting for Ryan to finally marry her, Ivy wouldn't give up so easily.

Hatred flashed through her eyes as she muttered to herself, "I can't afford to lose Ryan... Not to that bitch, Lora!"

The next day, Lora was in her office when Hannah knocked on her door.

"Ma'am, you have a visitor," Hannah announced.

Lora furrowed her eyebrows. She didn't have any appointments this early. After meeting the shareholders to let them know she had found the shipment, Lora hoped to sit in her office and get some work done. After all, she was working as a CEO and also, designing some drafts for the company.

"Who is it?" She asked her assistant.

Hannah scoffed. "It's Miss Ivy Williams. The audacity of her to show up here..."

Lora sighed internally. 'I'm sure she's here to find trouble.'

"Let her in," Lora answered.

A little while later, Ivy wheeled herself into Lora's office and approached her desk. Before Lora could ask > what Ivy was doing there, Ivy threw some photos on Lora's desk.

She sneered and said, "I know who you are, Lora."

Ivy glanced at Lora intently, wanting to see her reaction. She wasn't sure and she was trying to confirm her suspicion.

Silence fell upon the room.

Lora glanced at the photos and saw that they were of her and her two children.

She raised her eyes and arched an eyebrow at Ivy before asking, "So? Is there a problem?"

Ivy's eyes flashed with hatred when she realised Lora was indeed Larisa.

Chapter 38- An apology

"So it's you! How did you survive that explosion and why are you pretending to be someone else? Are you even Jack Davis' daughter? You're an imposter!" Ivy yelled, losing her cool.

Her heart was pounding so hard, she could hear it in her ears. This was not good. 'Larisa is alive! And she has kids who belong to Ryan!'

Fate was cruel. The woman she thought was out of Ryan's life forever was the same woman who came to steal him away once again hatred for Larisa intensified as she glared at the latter.

"What are you playing at Lora, are you here to steal Ryan away? Let me tell you something, I'll never let anyone steal Ryan away! Never!" Ivy hissed.

Lora let out a chuckle. She shook her head and replied, "You know what, I pity you so much. Why waste your time fighting other women for a man when you should be working on your skills which are very bad at the moment? Your focus should be on trying to save your reputation, not coming here to talk about a man who doesn't mean anything to me. I do not wish to steal your man and neither am I interested in him. I would appreciate if you told him to leave me alone."

Ivy laughed like a maniac. She spat, "Larisa, I know you... you've been playing hard to get but you're actually using your face to seduce Ryan! Let me warn you, get your dirty little brats and leave this city, or else..."

Lora rolled her eyes at Ivy's threat that she left hanging. She replied, "Ivy, just because you got rid of me once, doesn't mean I'll give you a chance to do it again. I'm not the same person I was six years ago." Ivy's eyes widened and panic washed over her. Did Lora know the truth about what happened six years ago?

She couldn't ask Lora directly and there was no way to find out, so the best way to avoid talking more about the issue was to leave.

Ivy glared at Lora before turning and leaving her office in a haste.

However, the moment lyy left Lora's company, she was on the patio when a large group of reporters surrounded her, shoving cameras and microphones in her face.

"Miss Williams, why did you come to Miss Davis' company?" One of the reporters asked.

"Miss Williams, did you come to create trouble for Miss Davis?"

Seeing that many reporters around her, Ivy's heart jumped to her throat. She didn't know how to answer those questions.

"Miss Williams, can you please tell us why you visited Miss Davis' company?"

Ivy was panicking, wracking her brain for how to answer when Lora suddenly appeared next to her.

Lora smiled at the cameras and announced, "Miss Williams came to apologise for plagiarising my work."

Gasps echoed among the reporters. They were intrigued by the gossip and one of them asked, "Miss Williams, is that true? Did you really come to apologise to Miss Davis?"

Ivy gulped. She looked up at Lora and the latter gave her a challenging look. 'So, this was all planned by you, Lora,' Ivy mused when a lightbulb went off in her head.

Chapter 39- An apology

Since she couldn't tell the reporters the real reason she came to see Lora, Ivy could only admit. She nodded and said, "Yes, I felt really bad about what happened and reflected on my actions." Looking at Lora, she remarked reluctantly, "I'm sorry, Miss Davis."

Lora smiled and said in front of the cameras, "I forgive you, Miss Williams. If you have trouble with designing next time, be sure to ask me for tips. I'll teach you for free."

Ivy ground her teeth in exasperation.
