Chapter 1069: You've Got Nerve!
As Brandon heard these words, he was momentarily taken aback.
"So, you don't have any feelings for her? Then what about today…"
"I just didn't want Auntie to think too much. Besides, I talked things over with Miss Thompson. Being
friends is good," Nelson explained.
Brandon fell silent for a moment, looking at him intently. "How special are you?"
Nelson met Brandon's gaze and finally whispered a reply.
Upon hearing Nelson's words, Brandon reflexively stood up, putting some distance between them.
Rubbing his forehead, Nelson sighed, "I told you, I'm not interested in someone like you."
Brandon scrutinized him, asking, "Does your family know?"
"If they did, would I still be alive?"
Brandon stared at Nelson for a while before resuming his seat. "You've got nerve."
"I can't control this kind of thing. Maybe I was just born this way," Nelson said, looking at Brandon.
"What about it? Do you look down on me?"
"Not really, it's not like I haven't seen anything before," Brandon replied.
After saying this, Brandon pinched the bridge of his nose and said, "I didn't see this at all. I even told
Sandy that I'd introduce you to her sister when you got back."
Nelson shrugged. "Looks like I won't have that privilege. I hadn't planned on telling you about this at
first, or making it public, but I can't let it affect someone else. So… I came clean."
"What did you say about Olive earlier?"
Nelson replied, "She knows about my situation."
Brandon was shocked, and after a moment of silence following Nelson's words, he finally continued the
conversation. "So, all these years, I couldn't see through it at all?"
"Exactly," Nelson said, looking at Brandon with a hint of disdain. "It's not that you lack perception; you
just don't have the eyes for it."
Brandon sat back down, looking at Nelson. He attempted to say something several times but struggled
to find the right words.
"Alright, you don't have to dwell on your words. Don't say anything, just drop it," Nelson whispered
when he noticed Brandon's hesitation.
Brandon raised his hand to rub his forehead. "Did you tell Stella too?"
"Yeah," Nelson replied. "I can't lie about something like this. Besides, she's your sister, and I wouldn't
deceive anyone, especially not someone from my own family."
"But others are fair game?"
"Can you stop being argumentative?" Nelson said, glancing at the time. "It's late. Why waste your time
here when you could be with your heartthrob? Are you planning to sleep with me tonight?"
Brandon immediately stood up. "You're dreaming!"
"In that case, you better leave right away," Nelson said, clearly annoyed.
Brandon got up and turned to leave but paused in his steps. He looked at Nelson with a serious
expression. "You've chosen a challenging path."
Upon hearing Brandon's words, Nelson was momentarily stunned, then he laughed. "Olive said the
same thing. But this is the path I should walk, whether it's easy or not."
Brandon gazed at Nelson for a while. "Wishing you smooth sailing."
Nelson chuckled, waved his hand at Brandon, indicating for him to leave.
Brandon didn't linger and turned back to his room.
The candidness tonight from Nelson left Brandon a bit stunned. However, as he calmed down, he could
see some signs of it. Despite knowing each other for so many years, Brandon had never seen any
romantic developments between Nelson and that girl.
Apart from Olive, there were hardly any female friends around him.
Before, Brandon had thought Nelson had feelings for Olive, especially given how often Nelson sided
with her. But he didn't consider Nelson to be an oddity because of it. Emotions were often involuntary
and directed by the heart.
So, Brandon quickly accepted Nelson's situation.
Meanwhile, in the guest room:
After hearing Stella's words, Sandy sat there as if someone had struck her acupoint, lost in thought.
Stella couldn't help but chuckle at Sandy's reaction. "You've been in the entertainment industry for so
long. Haven't you seen things like this before?"
Sandy nodded, then shook her head. "No, I've truly never witnessed something like this."
Stella smiled and said, "You're no better than me."
"When you heard it, weren't you shocked?" Sandy looked at Stella and asked.
"What's there to be shocked about? Equality is fundamental in this world. Whom you like and what you
like-those are matters of the heart and have no boundaries," Stella whispered.
Sandy still felt surprised despite Stella's words. She hadn't seen it coming at all.
"Well, don't worry about me. Nelson was honest, and that's better than pretending. Imagine if he had
smoothly gone along with it. What if I actually liked him, and he hadn't been truthful? How would you
feel about that later?"
Thinking it over, Sandy felt that Nelson was actually a decent person. At least he wasn't harming
anyone.
Thinking along those lines, Sandy eased up. "You're right, honesty is better than deceit."
Stella nodded. "It's getting late. You should get some rest."
Sandy glanced
at the time and then nodded. "I'll rest. You should too. Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
Sandy returned to her bedroom, where she found Brandon lying on the bed, absorbed in his phone.
She closed the door, walked over to the bed, and draped herself over Brandon. "Brandon, I heard
something really shocking."
"Nelson's situation?"
Brandon didn't beat around the bush and asked directly.
Upon hearing Brandon's question, Sandy sat up straight, puzzled. "You didn't know about it already? Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
Then why did you..."
"I just found out too," Brandon cut her off before she could finish.
Sandy blinked her eyes. "You've known him for so many years, and you still didn't know?"
Brandon put his phone aside, reached out to pull Sandy onto the bed, and held her in his arms. Then,
he spoke up. "We've known each other for years, but he's never shown any signs, nor has he had any
serious relationships. I thought he had feelings for Olive. It never occurred to me to think otherwise."
Sandy nodded in agreement. "Well, he can't exactly broadcast it to the world."
Brandon agreed with a nod. "He's been clear with Stella too."
"He's a good person."
Hearing Sandy's verdict, Brandon couldn't help but laugh. "What about me? Am I a good person?"
Sandy nodded. "You're different from him, but you're the best in my heart."
Brandon smiled and leaned down to kiss her on the forehead. "I just talked to Berton. I told him to find
a photographer. How about we take some wedding photos in the next couple of days?"
Hearing this, Sandy looked up at Brandon. "In the next couple of days? I haven't been feeling great
lately. What if I look awful in the photos?"
Brandon leaned down to kiss her again. "You'll always look your best."
