Lost and Found: Return of My Mysterious Fiancee

Chapter 686: Philip and Others Prepare for Self-Rescue

Alderanth.

After leaving the Reed family, Tina and Jared took a private jet to Alderanth.

As soon as they disembarked from the private jet, a group of people arranged by Jared in advance was there to meet them, with two rows of people in black standing straight, looking quite imposing. "Uncle, it seems you're doing quite well here," Tina said, her eyes lifting slightly at the corners, adding a bit of allure.

She knew that her Uncle held other identities besides being the captain of the X Bureau and Mr. Daryl, but she had never asked.

Now, it seemed like her Uncle was really flourishing here.

How much money must he be hiding?

Jared looked at her indulgently and gently scraped her nose with his hand, saying, "This place is my territory."

Seeming to guess Tina was thinking about hidden money, Jared chuckled softly, "I haven't hidden any money; all the income here is accounted for, and I will eventually give it all to you."

"Not bad! Quite the way to do it!" Tina smiled with satisfaction.

Her three uncles, following behind, saw this scene and couldn't help but turn their heads.

They were here to help rescue people, not to watch a display of affection!

The group settled into the accommodations that had been arranged for them, which appeared even more luxurious than those of the Farrell and Brookes families. They had barely sat down when someone came in, reporting that they had spotted three people at the southern mine.

Hearing this, the three uncles prepared to head to this so-called southern mine to rescue the individuals, but found Tina and Jared still sitting, sipping tea, with no reaction.

"Why aren't you moving? Shouldn't we hurry and rescue them?" Seeing their indifferent demeanor, all three uncles were baffled.

Jared spoke up, "There are my people around them in the shadows; they won't be in any big trouble."

Tina also set down her teacup, a hint of darkness crossing her eyes, "They deliberately lured us here, so why not just go along with their plan?"

Originally, the burning of the sanatorium was indeed Damian's doing; he didn't want himself to find Griffin and seek revenge.

But when Jared sent people to bring them back, he discovered that Philip and the others had been kidnapped by another group.

The purpose of this group was to lure her and Jared here.

Whether they were Dorothy Russell's people or someone else's was unknown.

She and Jared had personally come to see why they had gone to such lengths to lure them to Alderanth.

"You two mean to say..." Gavin was the first to catch on, but before he could finish, Tina simply nodded.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Brandon, unable to hold back, said, "Tina, since you two had already planned, why didn't you tell us earlier?"

This had left all three uncles constantly worried.

Tina glanced at them, an awkward expression crossing her face, "We were busy discussing some matters with Uncle on the plane and just forgot to tell you." Gavin, "..."

Brandon, "..."

Jack, "..."

That's quite hurtful, isn't it?

The three uncles expressed their dissatisfaction with the situation.

But surely, this couldn't be their niece's fault!

It must be because of Jared's influence!

Yes, no matter what, it must be Jared's fault, and definitely not their little innocent niece's!

The three uncles nodded, rarely in agreement.

It was another day of Jared being innocently blamed.

Meanwhile, inside the southern mine.

"Mr. Callahan, we can't wait any longer." After waiting a whole day, hungry and thirsty, Griffin could no longer bear it, "If we don't find a way out soon, we'll starve to death here."

Philip furrowed his brow, his expression sour. "We really can't wait any longer. Serena must be caught up in something, or this place is hard to find. Waiting further isn't a solution."

At the mention of this, Philip was so frustrated he wanted to explode. Serena had assigned him a solo mission, which he not only failed to complete but also ended up in a predicament himself. Despite being a disciple of Serenity Ridge, he had been directly kidnapped.

Indeed, they hadn't fallen into this sewer by accident; they had been abducted.

Someone had drugged them, depriving him of any chance to resist, and he was bound and thrown in here directly.

Moreover, he was still unclear about the identity of the person behind this, which only added to his irritation.

Due to the lingering effects of the drug in his system, he dared not act recklessly all day. As time passed, and with Tina still absent, they grew hungrier from the drug's effects, and their strength was failing. If they waited any longer, they might really end up dying here.

Philip furrowed his brow and said, "The priority now is to find a way out."

Griffin nodded. "Right, let's save ourselves. Maybe Tina can't find the exit of this sewer from outside. Let's search; maybe we'll find it."

Eric, shivering, stood behind them, silent.

Philip ignored Eric. Just seeing this weepy man made him want to punch him!

But he had no time for that now. Standing up, he said, "Keep close to me."

Griffin was weak but managed to keep pace with Philip. Eric, at the back, clung to Griffin's sleeve as if terrified of being left behind.

In this place, the only thing he could do was stick close to them, though he knew by their nature they wouldn't abandon him, he still worried.

Ahead was darkness, as if there was no end.

Eric, looking ahead with a trembling voice, asked, "How long before we can get out? Are we on the wrong path?"

He had earlier cautioned against moving recklessly, as the underground was a maze of passages, and any mistake could mean they wouldn't get out. But they hadn't listened to him, and not daring to stay alone, he had followed them. Now, he thought he might have been better off staying put.

Philip, who had little patience for anyone besides Serena and his master, growled at hearing him, "Shut up!"

Griffin quickly said, "Mr. Callahan is more capable than us. Even if we had stayed put, we would have just been sitting ducks. Plus, there's a draft in this mine tunnel, so there must be a path leading outside."

The plan now was to try and escape. The kidnappers hadn't shown themselves yet, and their motives were still unknown.

After searching, they realized that this place was actually a mine.

It was previously too dark to see clearly, and they had thought it was just a sewer.

As they continued, they discovered the mine was extensive, but where it led was still unknown.
