Love beyond the mask (Whitney)

Chapter 1046

The chaos had indeed caught the attention of Germinia Corporation's headquarters.

"The mysterious person you were guessing about seems to have had enough, just like you said. Is he planning to come back home?" Parker said excitedly as he approached, but his details were vague, causing him to frown in confusion. "I don't get how the corporation works, informing the domestic shareholders with just an email about such a major decision. The entire company is still in the dark. If I hadn't asked a shareholder just now, I would still be clueless. And... they mentioned sending someone special? Ludwik! What if it's not the 'mysterious person' himself coming back? Then aren't we just chasing shadows, losing both our queen and our pawns?"

He rambled on, bombarding with questions.

Ludwik's eyes were narrowed in thought, his handsome features composed. "Just an email notification, without any direct communication with Inko Group's staff? That's worth pondering," he finally said, addressing Parker's first point.

"What do you mean?" Parker felt out of his depth, like a soldier in a battle of wits with Ludwik, always struggling to keep up.

Ludwik gave him a slight, meaningful smile. "An email for notification, informing only the shareholders of Inko Group, suggests the person coming doesn't want to make a big deal out of it. The corporation's secretive approach has the domestic shareholders all jittery, creating an atmosphere of tension and pressure. That's a tactic. And it's typical of someone who prefers to stay under the radar. It reminds me of that time in front of the Germinialnko building, where we couldn't find out anything. Security mentioned that their chairman is rarely seen by anyone. Maybe it's the chairman himself coming over."

Ludwik speculated quietly, "The mysterious person? The corporation's chairman?"noveldrama

"Do you think Bryce's backer, this mysterious person, could be the corporation's chairman?"

"It's not impossible," Ludwik said, pursing his lips.

"But the email mentioned sending a special envoy. Even with Inko Group's unstable situation affecting the corporation's interests, would the global chairman really make a trip personally for this?"

"Whether it's a special envoy or the chairman himself, we'll know once he arrives. That's what all my strategies are aimed at. To meet this 'mysterious person', Bryce's backer."

Ludwik had suspected a connection between this person and Whitney, given that Florence's plastic surgery seemed to emulate Whitney. He had even probed Whitney, suspecting her 'deceased' mother.

"But now, with the 'mysterious person' coming back, we'll soon unravel the mystery," Ludwik mused.

"Now that the corporation has sent the email, our objective has been achieved," Ludwik said with a sly grin, turning to Parker. "You can stop stirring up trouble for the next few days. We promised Mrs. Wilson to keep the company's losses within manageable limits, to avoid a complete disaster. Also, how's the situation with the police department?"

Before Parker could respond, his expression darkened with anger and frustration. He turned and shouted outside, summoning an underling who rushed in to report on Bryce's release from police custody due to lack of new evidence. They had seen Bryce arguing over a phone call, possibly with Florence, before leaving the scene.

"So, the bastard got away just like that?" Parker clenched his jaw.

Ludwik, however, remained unfazed, his eyes gleaming coldly. "Perfect timing for his release. He must be in for a shock, hence the phone

argument. Probably with Florencen

Now, we just need to monitor Bryce's movements to eventually uncover the 'special envoy sent by the corporation. Understand?"

Parker's mind raced, quickly grasping Ludwik's intent. "So, we're going to trace back to the source through Bryce?"

"Exactly. Keep an eye on Bryce and gather any information about the 'special envoy's' arrival from the shareholders. We'll find out who this person is."

"Now, we wait," Ludwik concluded, with a hint of anticipation.

Parker couldn't help but admire Ludwik's cunning. "You're always one step ahead."

As they prepared to focus on

stabilizing Inko Group's situation, Parker complained about the relentless workload and the toll it was taking on his personal life, humorously lamenting his

diminishing stamina and indirectly blaming Ludwik for it. Ludwik, ever the strategist, remained focused on the task ahead, showing a rare glimpse of his human side amidst the corporate intrigue.

The conversation took a sudden turn, and Ludwik shot the man a cold glance, visibly annoyed by his incessant babbling. "What's there to worry about?"

"You haven't taken a break since you got back from Eurovoria! You've been here, stirring up storms in Emperor City non-stop. Look, I'm just saying, have you forgotten about your condition? It's... you know, that you're impotent, and it hasn't been cured, right?

Do you think Whitney will ever look past that?" This was the kind of delicate topic that men sometimes tread into, and Parker, who was in the midst of mending his relationship with Tiana, found himself quite intrigued and eager to learn more.

Once he started, he couldn't stop.

But there was silence, no response from Ludwik.

After a moment, Parker took a sip of water and looked up from the couch, only to see a computer mouse suddenly hurling through the air towards him!

"Damn!" He dodged quickly, his stylish short hair fluttering in the process, narrowly avoiding the unexpected projectile.
