Chapter 349

Chapter 349 He’s Dead

On the way to the Diverous Hospital, Hailey kept sweating in her palms.

Her head was buzzing, and she only felt cold all over her body. Her heart was sinking, and she panicked.

Brook told her that Roger had his men ambushed on the way to the airport to help him escape and fought with the police. In the end, he was shot many times and killed.

Roger was dead.

The devil who had tortured Hailey and made her life a living hell finally died.

But the car Owen and Saul were in collided with the car Roger was driving, and a very serious car accident happened.

Owen and Saul were both sent to the nearest Diverous Hospital for rescue, but their lives were in danger.

Suddenly, the sky was overcast with clouds, as if God was pitying them.

Hailey stiffened. Brook kept comforting her, but she couldn’t hear anything, as if she were isolated from the world.

All of a sudden, a scene flashed through her mind.

She thought of the day ten years ago when the tall, handsome man held her in his arms and comforted her not to be afraid, speaking, “my name is Owen.”

She couldn’t remember the indifference he had shown to her in the past three years. She only remembered that he had apologized, regretted, and tried his best to please her again and again.

Hailey had loved this man for ten years.

During the ten years when she was crazy about him, he didn’t love her.

During the six months when he tried to beg her back, she rejected him coldly and even felt disgusted.

She had gotten back at him for all the pain he caused her and even claimed that she didn’t love him anymore.

But why, at this moment, all she was thinking about was his good side?

Why.couldn’t she remember his bad side at all?

Hailey got out of the car, her legs numb. When she arrived at the entrance of the Diverous Hospital, she suddenly stopped.

She was a little scared.

Seeing her pale face, Karl came over to give her a hug, caressed her shoulder, and said gently, “Don’t be afraid. We’re here with you.”

Hailey walked into the elevator and went upstairs.

As soon as she walked out of the elevator, she heard a roar mixed with crying.

“He was still alive when he was sent here. Why did you just let him die?”

“Aren’t you doctors? Save him! Save him!”

“Please save him. I beg you!”

Lucas grabbed the doctor’s neck, crying, shouting, and finally choking with sobs.

Jose couldn’t stop him and squatted down with him.

The two burly men burst into tears together.

The bodyguards in black stood against the wall with sad faces and red eyes. They lowered their heads and mourned silently.

Hailey’s head went blank, and she stood frozen at the elevator door.

On the bed lay a body covered with a white cloth from feet to head. The white cloth had already been stained with blood.

It was shocking red.

It was silent. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

Dead silence…

When Lucas and Jose saw Hailey, they were both shocked and then burst into tears again with their hands on their foreheads.

Hailey, like a soulless puppet, marched towards the bed step by step.

“Hailey…” Brook tried to stop her, but she pushed him away.

Randal called her name, but she turned a deaf ear to him.

Karl stopped Brook and Randal and shook his head at them. As Hailey walked toward the bed step by step, they silently trailed after her.

Hailey’s eyes were dry without any tears.

She walked to the bed and threw back the white cloth with her stiff and trembling hands, only to see Owen’s deformed, sunken and pale face.

He just lay there silently, exceptionally quiet, as if he had fallen asleep.

“Maybe he just fell asleep. Yes, he just fell asleep!” thought Hailey.

“Why are you standing here in a daze?” Hailey suddenly spoke in a low and hoarse voice. “Send the patient back to the ward and let him have a good rest.”

Everyone stared at her, but no one responded.

Hailey was angry. “Why didn’t they listen to me? Forget it! I’ll do it myself.”

She walked to the head of the bed and pushed it toward the ward. Suddenly, with a click, something seemed to fall from Owen’s palm.

Hailey paused and gazed down. It was a hairpin.

It had broken into two pieces.

There was a rose engraved on it, stained with blood.

It was like a red rose.

Tears suddenly flooded down Hailey’s cheeks.

She raised her hand to wipe her tears. But for some reason, she couldn’t help crying.

She still wiped her eyes stubbornly, not wanting to shed a tear.

Jose walked over, picked up the broken wooden hairpin from the ground, and handed it to Hailey.

In a hoarse voice, he said, “This is something that Mr. Moore clutched tightly in his hand and didn’t let go of it even when his time came. Ms. Newman, now I return it to you.”

Tears streamed down Hailey’s face again. She squatted on the ground and hid her face behind her palms.

In the corridor, it was quiet, with only low sobs, as if a child were crying.

Suddenly, the door of the operating room opened. A nurse shouted, “Is Saul’s family here? The patient has lost too. much blood and needs a blood transfusion. Anyone here has ab-negative blood type?”

Brook and Randal rose to their feet in unison and answered, “I have!”

“Please come here and have a blood type test,” said the nurse.

A voice of discussion came from inside. “No, he’s too seriously injured. He can’t breathe again! Is the director here? Call him!”

Karl walked over, squatted down, and caressed Hailey’s soft hair. “Hailey, don’t cry. Saul needs you, and so do we.”

He removed Hailey’s hand and saw a face covered with tears.

Karl raised wiped her tears and helped her up. “Go ahead. I’ll help you take care of Owen.”

Hailey took a deep look at Owen and entered the operating room.

Saul had received two more emergency treatments on the bed. The attending doctor and nurse were at a loss, th faces as pale as white paper sheets.

Seeing that Hailey, who was confirmed to be a famous doctor, was brought in by a nurse, they seemed to see a s lining and quickly explained the situation.

Hailey checked Saul and gave the order directly and forcefully, like an emotionless medical machine.

However, when she saw the half-wooden hairpin in Saul’s hand, tears welled up in her eyes again.

An hour later, the light in the operating room went out.

Saul was rescued and transferred to the ICU.

The medical staff came out of the operating room with sweat all over their forehead. They were still scared by th dangerous situation just now and extremely admired Dr. Grace’s medical skills.

Hailey was the last one to walk out. She was still wearing a surgical gown.

“Good job.”

Karl walked up to her, touched her face, and held her in his arms.

Leaning against his shoulder, Hailey trembled and choked with sobs. “Karl, he’s dead. He’s dead…”
