Love’n’Lust

Overthinking

“Heyy Belle,” Cherry came back from keeping the jumpsuit she just acquired from Belle.

“Yeah?” Belle answered inattentively, still deciding which clothes to take and which not to.

“What about the red stiletto heels, the one with the…..” Cherry was about to ask for another of Belle’s belongings when Brie stopped her.

“Really Cherry? Is that all you care about right now? Do you even care about where she moving to?”

“What? She already said it, she moving into a house Ben Larkson got her, there is nothing to worry about. You need to relax a bit on this, let her live her best life if she can, I mean you did so when you were still with the Lumre family’s only heir, you had your fun right? Let her have hers.”

“Let her have hers and get hurt in the end?”

“Come on Brie, not every man in city S is like Carl Lumre; I usually won’t say this because I have had bad experiences with men but it’s true, not all men are the same. Ben’s probably different…..”

Belle sighed as she heard Brie and Cherry exchange views, this was the exact reason she didn’t want to let them know about the house.

She closed the luggage box and picked it up before heading out. Brie noticed and went after her, leaving Cherry alone in the room.

“Belle?” Belle stopped when Brie called her name. Standing and waiting for Brie to approach where she stood in the living room, she got an unexpected hug from her. It was a warm hug.

“I’m sorry if I’m overreacting, I’m just trying to protect you from something I’ve been through before but I guess Cherry’s right, not all men are the same. Ben’s not Carl.” Brie sighed with a shrug after releasing Belle from her hug.

“It’s fine, I understand,” Belle replied with a sincere smile. She really appreciated Brie’s effort to help her.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

***

Back at her bungalow, Belle locked the entrance door as soon as she got there. Getting to the master’s bedroom, the first thing she did was kick her shoes to a corner and take off her clothes, after that she sat in the tub in the master’s bedroom, her phone on a flat tab extending right from the wall. She was expecting a call from Ben, he didn’t come to pick her up today so she thought he might call to give her a reason.

Time passed as she flipped through chapters of a romance book, enjoying the warm bubbles against her immersed skin. She reached for her phone after a while to check what the time said because she still had not gotten a call from Ben.

She folded the page where she stopped reading so she could easily open it later on. Getting out of the bath, she dried her body, taking her time as if she had nothing more to do for the night apart from eating and then sleeping afterward.

Putting on a bathrobe after wiping her skin dry, she picked up her phone and book and headed to the kitchen to eat.

Continuing her romance novel as she ate, she still had her phone within arm’s reach Incase Ben’s call came but it didn’t. She started to wonder if he was mad about what she said that morning and how she reacted.

She made up her mind to call him and maybe apologize, that was if he was angry about that morning. Sitting on the bed, she dialed his contact, watching and hearing it ring without him picking up. Disappointed, she tried again, placing another call. It rang through and he still did not pick up.

Deciding it would be the last, she called him one more time but he didn’t pick up like the previous times. Frustrated, she switched off her phone and undressed from the bathrobe. Laying naked in bed, she pulled up the thick blanket over herself, covering herself from her toes up to her neck. She lay there, curled up underneath the warm blanket, thinking about Ben.

She knew now that she was expecting too much when she thought he would call to say why he didn’t pick her up.

‘Maybe she should listen to Brie and stop what she was doing with Ben before it got late’ she began to think.

‘But I knew what I was getting into,’ she thought again. ‘… he did say he couldn’t love me, he only wanted me sexually and I gave him a go-ahead so I shouldn’t feel bad if he doesn’t call, I shouldn’t feel bad if he doesn’t come to pick me up.’ she repeated to herself these exact thoughts.

No one had ever kept her up thinking about them like Ben was doing. She knew she was going astray from what she planned initially when she continued her sexual adventures with him. She had planned not to get attached no matter what, she was just going to have a good time with him every time and that would be it….. but here she was, thinking about him and trying to calculate if he was angry at her or not.

She soon fell asleep.
