"YOU OKAY?" Riovanni placed a comforting hand on Helga's back as she doubled over in another wave of morning sickness. She couldn't bring herself to respond, but she managed a slight nod as she gripped the sink for support. Her skin felt hot and clammy as she struggled to keep down the breakfast she had just eaten. As days went by, her pregnancy symptoms only intensified, causing her to worry that Řiovanni's pack members would soon start to notice and question her condition. After she finished vomiting, she rinsed her mouth and splashed water on her face. Riovanni then handed her a towel which she gratefully took, all while gazing at him with a gentle smile on her lips. She was relieved that even as a busy king, he still made time to take care of her himself. Ever since the encounter with the intruder, he became even more vigilant in keeping her safe. She was always by his side. and she didn't care if she really looked a prisoner because there's a chain that bound her whenever they were around other pack members. It caused others to mock her silently, but at least it put an end to any suspicions about her relationship with Riovanni. And for Helga, that all matters. They will attack tomorrow, will you be okay with your condition?" he asked, she gave him an affirmative nod, not wanting to worry him. "You won't have the ability to shift or fight, so it would be wisest if you stay in one safe place tomorrow where you'll be out of harm's way from the baule" from "What? No. I want to do something even if it's just a small thing or support," she replied, shaking her head. While she knew he had good intentions, it didn't sit right with her to do nothing while her pack mates would do all they could to fight and rescue Demian's victims. "I know you will feel guilty without doing anything but think about the child inside your womb. What would you do if something were to happen to you?" Riovanni tried to reason, convincing Helga not to participate in the war pack that would happen tomorrow. Despite his best efforts, however, he could see that she was still determined to join the war pack tomorrow.
As he prepared to say more, a strange feeling washed over him. It felt like someone was listerning from just outside his room. With a sense of urgency, he ran to the door and flung it open, but there was no one there. His frown deepened as scanned the empty corridor, searching for any sign of who could it be. "Am I being paranoid? I could swear I felt someone's presence, he muttered to himself before turning inside of his room where he saw Helga standing behind him, her face etched with concern and confusion.

"What's wrong? Was someone outside?" she asked, feeling a little uneasy.

"No, but I felt someone's presence," Riovanni replied as he closed the door and ran his fingers through his hair, sighing heavily. "Maybe I'm just being overly cautious because of the recent incident. After all, I am the quickest one here; if someone was actually lurking outside, I would have been able to catch them before they could escape." he
"Are you sure? What if someone heard our conversation?" With calculated effort, Helga lowered her voice to almost a whisper. The mere thought of someone from his pack overhearing their conversation made her shudder, especially when the topics of the war pack and her pregnancy were brought up. anyone were to discover their plans and secrets, things would surely go downhill for them, and that was the last thing she wanted to happen.
Riovanni's dark eyes bore into her, studying the way she subconsciously rubbed her stomach is lips pursed in frustration as he considered her words. He knew what she said was possible after all, he was certain he felt someone's presence earlier. Still, it doesn't make sense that he wasn't able to see who it was when he acted as soon as he sensed anything. "Come on, don't just stare at me... What will we do?" Helga's voice cut through Riovanni's thoughts, pulling him back to the present-fle blinked, refocusing has mind on her question. Tomorrow, Siegren's pack would finally attack his pack, and he felt a surge of confidence knowing that he had successfully kept telga sate for weeks. As long as he could keep her sate and within his reach for another 24 hours, they would be in good shape. I highly doubt that rat was able to overhear our conversation, don't worry about it, he replied calmly, but Helga's worry only seemed to intensly because she couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to go terribly wrong

Unbeknownst to them, the maid who had been lingering outside of Riovanni's bed chamber was now sprinting at top speed, her heart racing with terror. She couldn't bear the thought of being caught by the powerful Lycan King, even though she had no malicious intentions.

"I-I got panicked, Sir," she stammered, her voice trembling so much that it caught Demian's attention and piqued his curiosity.
"Why would

"N-nothing, Sir... I-I was about to collect the laundry of the King and the fallen princess, but just as before I approached the door, I overheard them talking..." She tried to speak, but her throat felt dry as she avoided meeting Demian's gaze. He may not have been in charge anymore, but his presence still commanded respect and fear.
"What were they talking about?" Demian's voice was tinged with impatience as he spoke. His attempt to divert his son's attention that night had failed, meaning that he also couldn't abduct Helga as planned. He was angry at the setback, but there was nothing he could do except postpone his plans until he could find a way to separate his son from her. After all, it was clear that Riovanni didn't trust any of their pack members since he was personally looking after Helga himself.
"Why aren't you answering? What did you hear?" Demian gave a disapproving glare when the maid didn't anwser. She visibly flinched and nervously-cleared her throat before responding.
"I-I couldn't make out everything clearly, Sir, but one thing was for certain: the fallen princess was expecting a child."
