Luna Of The 13
A DEEP BREATH of relief escaped Helga's lips, her body finally relaxing at the words spoken by Beta David. She had been certain of the truth, but a nagging doubt still lingered in the back of her mind, what if the beta had failed to verify her information? After all, she had just stumbled upon Miranda's secret by chance. If not for catching a glimpse of her removing her necklace, Helga would have never known that Miranda was deceiving every member of the Incarnadine Pack with her appearance. "How did
did you confirm it?" Siegren asked calmly, his arms crossed over his chest. David leaned back against the sofa and looked at Helga, which made her anticipate what he was going to say. "When I arrived in the north, I managed to tail her when she left their house and went to a mountain near the silver pack's border. She discreetly met someone who was wearing a gold mask and red cloak. Even from afar, I was able to eavesdrop on their conversation using my abilities. Miranda was asking the mysterious man for another piece of ewelry to change her appearance in case her current necklace broke." David explained, causing Siegren to scowl. "That means, that wench wasn't the one who can do magic but the person she secretly met?" he asked, and David nodded.
"That's I
Tha right. I intended to follow the one using magic, but before I could even pick up his trail, he vanished. It's just a hunch, but something about that man gave off the vibe of a warlock."
The room fell into a heavy silence, the weight of the statement hanging in the air. The Alpha King, known for his quick and decisive actions, resorted to tapping his finger on his desk-a sure sign that he was deep in thought. His mind raced with possibilities as he contemplated how to to handle this unexpected situation. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that magic would still persist in Verdentia, despite the previous Alpha kings' ruthless attempts to eradicate all forms of witchcraft. The very mention of witchcraft, a dark and feared form of magic, sent shivers down his spine as he weighed his options. "Do you think we should look i into it more?" David asked, breaking the heavy silence that filled the air.
"No, let's focus on Luna Selection for now; we can talk about this later." Siegren sighed and rubbed his temples, feeling the tension building in his head. He turned to Helga, who was staring at him. "What?"
"Since you've verified the truth of my words, I won't face any consequences, correct?" she questioned hesitantly, which caught the attention of both the Beta and Gamma who exchanged looks, puzzled by her statement. They were also surprised that she didn't use any formal titles when addressing the Alpha King "That's right, so what?" Siegren raised an eyebrow, giving her a questioning look.
"Then could I possibly receive a reward for providing you with such valuable information? Regardless of the reason why 1 revealed Miranda's use of dark magic, it was still because of me that you were made aware of its existence." Helga stated with her fingers nervously fidgeting while she focused on the Alpha King. She knew she sounded arrogant, but she saw this as an opportunity to ask for something in return. She couldn't explain why, but she had a feeling he wouldn't let her leave the palace, even if Beta David were to help her inform him. "A reward you say?" Siegren scoffed, leaning closer to his desk and resting his elbows on it. He clasped his fingers together and rested his chin on them as he looked at her with interest. Her eyes were fixed on him with a determined gleam in them. He couldn't believe the audacity of this woman, asking for a reward after revealing the existence of dark magic. But despite that, a small smirk formed on his lips, amused by her boldness. "What makes you think I would give you anything just because you've uncovered the truth about dark magic's existence?" "Pardon my impertinence but... Is it difficult for the Alpha King to grant a single reward?" Helga inquired with genuine curiosity. However, her question seemed to shock David and Lucian, causing them to gasp and exchange glances with raised eyebrows and slightly open mouths. They appeared both amused and worried for her at the same time. "Are you kidding me?" Siegren's brow furrowed.
"No, I'm serious, Your Majesty," Helga spoke, keeping her tone even and respectful. However, she couldn't help but find it amusing how easily the Alpha King was provoked. Portia had told her about his tendency to agree if provoked, and now shel 13:51 Wed, Oct 16 Chapter 13

"It
saw it for herself. Deciding-to take advantage of the situation, she continued, "Of course, if you are unable to grant me a reward, I'll simply assume that the information I gave wasn't worth much." seemed you had forgotten my warning the last time we talked." The atmosphere shifted suddenly, growing tense as the words hung in the air, but the beta and gamma had no intention of interfering as they became invisible in this room. They just silently observe the interaction between Siegren and Helga with amusement. After all, it was rare to see the Alpha King engaging in such conversation with a woman and actually managing to hold his attention until the end.
"I have a clear recollection of them, Your Majesty." Helga declared calmly, showing no signs of fear or submission on her face. Instead, she appeared resolute. "I kept that in my mind."
"So, what exactly are you trying to accomplish at the moment? be pushed his chair back, his hands on top of the desk as he looked at his beta and gamma. "Leave us,"
David and Lucian exchanged uncertain glances. They were unsure of what might happen once they stepped out of the room, but as it was their Alpha's order, they had no other option but to follow it. With respectful, they turned on their heels and made their way towards the loor. Both glanced at Helga, silently urging her to not p the King any further, but she simply smiled back at them.
Once the two had left, she deliberately lifted her gaze to meet Siegren's intense stare. The air between them felt charged and heavy with anticipation as they waited for the other to break the silence. And then, just as she expected, he began to move towards her his confident steps echoing through the room. He then paused in front of the sofa where she sat, his hand casually resting on the backrest as he slightly leaned down, his hair brushing against hers in a tantalizing dance. At that moment, she could feel the intensity of his presence, like a predator closing in on its prey.
"I could tell you're trying to prove me, young lady," he said, his voice low and raspy. It felt hot on her ear, and she felt. goosebumps forming on her skin, her heart beating faster against her ribcage

"And I could tell it's working." Helga countered and leaned back slowly as she looked up at him, "Your Majesty, the reward 1 desire is not extravagant. Please hear me out before deciding whether you will grant it or not." Siegren's brow furrowed in confusion, causing deep lines to appear on his forehead. He then slowly removed his hand from the backrest and gave up, taking a seat opposite her. His legs were crossed, and his arms were folded tightly across his chest, emphasizing his displeasure. "What What exactly did you want from me?"
"I wish to leave the palace grounds and explore the famous central plaza of the capital, Helga said simply, her lips curved into a genuine smile, which caught Siegren off guard and caused his finger to twitch in surprise. After all, she showed nothing but serious and determined expression during their conversations ever since she entered the palace. Seeing her smile is quite refreshing. "Is that all?" he questioned, his eyebrows furrowed as he looked at her.
"Yes, Your Majesty." Helga nodded and Siegren ran his fingers through his hair, letting out a sigh of defeat. Helga couldn't help but startle, however, she knew that it was a clear sign that she won the argument-or so she thought until she heard Siegren's unexpected response.
"Very well, but I'm coming with you."
