Master of his heart (Brielle and Max)

Chapter 891

In William's life, he'd never spoken to Max with such determination before. He was still wary of the shares Max held; regardless of whether Max was truly part of the Dorsey family or not, those shares were undeniably in his possession.

So, William's plan was to sue Max on behalf of the Dorsey family. If Max wasn't really one of them, he should hand over the shares and step down. Otherwise, prison awaited him.

This, in William's mind, was the perfect strategy. He knew he couldn't beat Max head-to-head, but if Max willingly gave up his CEO position, William was ready to offer him a payout.

William stood in front of his sleek black car, surrounded by several other vehicles belonging to the Dorsey family's extended network. From everyone's perspective, Max's downfall seemed inevitable. Once he was out of the picture, as Michael's eldest son, William was the clear frontrunner for the top spot.

"Max, don't blame us. What you're holding belongs to the Dorsey family. My lawyers are ready, and you can see I mean business. Just hand over the shares, and we'll let it go," William declared.

Brielle, standing beside Max, couldn't help but find it ridiculous. Max had been groomed as the Dorsey heir since he was ten, and his decisions had skyrocketed the company's value. Now, instead of receiving accolades, William's attitude suggested that not imprisoning Max was a huge favor. She instinctively grabbed Max's hand.

She wasn't sure what Max had been dealing with lately, but she sensed it had to do with negotiations with Michael.

Ignoring William's bluster, Max opened the car door and helped Brielle inside.

"Let's head to Pearl Estate for a break," he said, joining her in the car.

William and his entourage stood there, stunned, as the car drove off. It hit them only then that Max had outright ignored them.

William was shaking with anger, his fists clenched tight - some people just didn't get it until it was too late.

In the car, Brielle wanted to speak but felt a wave of nausea and clutched her stomach instead. She was determined to have this baby. The doctors had been discreet, sharing results only with Max. Was there something wrong with the baby? Anxiously, she gripped Max's arm. He looked out the window, a slight frown on his face.

"Ugh, cough, cough."

He coughed a few times, rubbing his forehead.

When they arrived at Pearl Estate, Brielle saw several people in black waiting - clearly, Max's team.

Someone whispered something to him, and he replied coolly, "We'll talk later."

Inside her room, which she hadn't visited in a while, everything was still spotless. Max handed her a glass of water and turned off his phone, showing he wasn't interested in any interruptions.

He gently touched Brielle's belly.

"Brielle, your health-"

She cut him off, gripping his hand tightly, her grasp saying more than words - she wanted this child.

But it wasn't just about what she wanted.

He leaned closer, placing her hand in his.

Before he could finish, Brielle stood up, clearly upset.

"No matter what, I want this baby."

"Brielle!"

Realizing his tone was harsh, Max softened his voice.

"Brielle, the doctors said your can't handle it. If you don't be them, I'll take you soelse

Because of past incidents, she had lost trust in hospitals.

Biting her lip, Brielle slumped back onto the sofa, her eyes filling with tears.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

"How will we know if we don't try?"

Max's eyes reddened briefly with guilt. He had always been careful, but somehow, he had still caused her pain.
