My Brother's Best Friend Is My Mate

Chapter 47: Dinner

Chapter 47: Dinner

"My mom told me to-" Liam stopped short when he saw me, only in a robe. I hadn't bothered to put on

my clothes in the bathroom because the floor was wet and I didn't care to slip and fall and smash open

my skull.

"Uh, sorry. I was just going to er, put on my clothes in my room." Liam's eyes were a goldish color and

his eyes were literally glowing. It looked like he almost stopped breathing as his eyes looked over my

body. I was sure he knew I had nothing underneath the robe and that made me want to pop my neck

off my body.

"Sorry. Just got distracted." Liam finally tore his eyes away from me, and looked at the wall. His cheeks

were pink. "My mom wanted you to come down for dinner." He said, as he looked into my eyes. His

were their original color.

"Okay." I nodded and Liam left the room. Leaving me alone so I could die in my embarrassment.

"You're here!" Sarah exclaimed and gave me warm smile as soon as I stepped inside the kitchen. A

apron was wrapped around her waist and she was taking something from out of the oven. She set it

down on the counter and I realised that they were cupcakes. She left them on a rack to cool and turned

her attention to me.

"I hope you're hungry because I didn't cook this much for you to not eat!" Sarah said. Now that she said

it, I could feel a familiar sensation rising in the pit of my stomach. Hunger.

"I'm starving, actually. I feel like I haven't eaten in days." I tell Sarah truthfully.

"And you do look pale. Don't worry, I prepared some chicken broth, especially for you." Sarah hugged

me. She reminded me of my mother a lot, Liam must be grateful to have a Mom like Sarah. She's

always helping people and is the most darling person ever.

Sarah ushered me to the living room. Annabelle, Carter, Liam and Spencer were already seated at the

table. To my surprise, my mom as well as my dad were also there. But the biggest surprise was Shawn

and Damion seated at the right hand corner of the table. And beside Sean was a beautiful lady with

flowing dark hair. She was smiling and talking to Sean as Sarah pulled out a seat for me at the table.

Spencer was at my right, Liam at my left.

My mother immediately started talking to me, telling me how wonderful I looked, and my dad backing

up her statements. Everyone was happy to see me, and Damion didn't even say anything mean to me.

He actually seemed to be thinking deep about something because he barely acknowledged me at the

table. Sarah finally brought out the food and everyone immediately stopped speaking. The piled their

plates with food. I suddenly didn't feel hungry again. NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.

I picked at my food for the entire time, and no one seemed to notice. Not even Sarah who was looking

around at everyone, smiling and asking them if they were enjoying the meal. She soon got into a

conversation with my mom, talking about vacations, and house costs and stuff like that. Everyone was

in conversation and no one seemed to notice me there. Confused.

"You okay?" I felt a nudge in my side. It was Spencer. Okay, so someone did notice. She gave me a

confused look and shared a expression with Liam. He took my hand and I shuddered at the contact of

his skin on mine.

"I'll take her for some fresh air." He told Spencer and excused himself and me. Everyone at the table

looked up at us as Liam took me away from the dining room.
