Chapter 86
"I still have a bit of work to finish tonight, so I'm sentencing you to be my temporary secretary. Help me with the paperwork and tell me your impressions of Brilliance Trevon instructed. "Yes, Mr. Brady. I'm at your command for the entire evening Selina answered.
Selina playfully responded, finally coaxing a smile out of Trevon. He affectionately tweaked her delicate nose before the ushered him away to enjoy some sugar water while she tackled the leftover paperwork
As Selina sorted through the files, she casually glanced over them and then teasingly addressed Trevon, who was sipping sugar water, "Honey, aren't you worried about these important documents being out in the open with me? What if I'm short on cash and decide to sell them off?"
These important documents were typically only accessed by Trevon and his inner circle. A few business secrets from these papers could fetch billions if sold.
Trevon, lounging leisurely, allowed the light to accentuate his striking side profile, mesmerizingly attractive. His voice, deep and resonant, replied, "Honey, I hope you haven't overlooked the fact that you already have a billionaire husband. What need would you have for a few extra billion?"
Just remember not to blame me if they somehow get sold," Selina quipped back
Selina had the documents neatly organized. Impressed by her quick work as he joined her after his sugar water break Trevon complimented her, "Honey, you're quite adept. You don't seem like a beginner at all. You might just have the talent for being a secretary. How about joining the Insight Group? You name your salary"
"Forget it. When our contract marriage ends, if I ever choose to marry you, it would be for life's little pleasures and outdoing each other, not to be taken for granted and overworked. Besides, with Andrew around you're in excellent hands-he's far more capable than I could ever be as your aide."
"You know me best. If you did join, I could easily reassign Andrew."
Trevon looped his arm around Selina's waist. His tall frame overshadowed her as he nodded with his chin brushing against her hair, sending a playful tickle through her. Though the gestures were intimate, they fell short of impropriety. "No. I prefer an easy life, away from corporate entanglements"
After all, Selina's abilities far exceeded those of a mere secretary.
She would aim for a far greater ambition and be unwilling to be relegated to mere accessory status.
"However, if you sweeten the deal, perhaps I might consider sorting out some documents for you on occasion."
"Then tonight, I am indeed fortunate to have such a charming lady assisting with my paperwork. Trevon said with a grin as he settled into his office chair, still gently holding her hand. "How was your trip to the Brilliance today?"
Selina shrugged, "Nothing. It's a gem from the Insight Group, staffed with the talent you selected. The designers are not only strong and independent, but they don't bow to the pressure of authority. The fact that they didn't suck up to me despite knowing I was a high-level insertion speaks volumes. Such backbone is what keeps them as creators, not just assembly puppets.
"And you! According to reports from Andrew and Derrick, you took on an $55-rated design project with considerable boldness. Do you feel confident about it?"
"Don't underestimate your wife, Trevon. When I agreed to our contractual marriage, I was well aware of your status. It wasn't simply about fleeing the Harvey family's grip or changing my residence. I knew what being your wife would entail, and still, I consented. You should know what that signifies"

Had their contractual mariage been in its infancy, Selina might have refrained from such straightforwardness, but as they became more comfortable with each other and aligned their mindsets, she wouldn't shy away from showcasing her true capabilities. Indeed. She could neither completely hide her talents nor suffer being demeaned as a trophy wife subject to belittlement without recourse. This time, Selina was resolved not to be subjugated.
Trevon playfully touched Selina's nose. "Then I'm the luckiest man alive, picking up such a treasure of a wife from a dating app. I'm all in on this venture, five hundred million."
"You always know just what to say, Selina said with a laugh. "Any other tasks for me? Otherwise, I'm off to take a bath. Staying up ages the skin, you know?"
"No more work. I wouldn't want my wife to overdo it. People might start to think Trevon can't afford the good life, having to work hisavife to the bone."
Trevon lifted Selina's delicate hand to his forehead and rested there gently with a tender and intimate voice, "I'm tired from a long day's work and waiting for you. Let me lean on you for just five minutes. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
Selina had never met a man who was as affectionate or assertive as him. Her lips curled into a smile, "Okay, it's all up to you."
"We have an important meeting tomorrow with the jewelry designer, Angel, honey. Since you're savvy about design. I bet you'd love Angel's creations. How about you come?"
Selina frowned slightly, amused. Trevon had played coy with her just now, and now he was testing her. She withdrew her hand and gave Trevon's ear a playful pinch, "With Derrick already briefing you, you haven't forgotten that I have an appointment with the Cartier rep tomorrow, have you?"
"Honey, no one has ever dared to play with me, not even my grandparents or parents," Trevon said without a hint of irritation. Yet after he claimed as much, Selina became more mischievous, toying with his facial hair, "So could we postpone the Cartier meeting? Are you curious about Angel?"
"It's not a matter of being curious or not, but I'm committed to excellence in my work. If those at the Brilliance don't recognize ПTY worth, then I intend to secure Cartier's endorsement for Summer Starlight Limited Edition to shatter their biased perceptions. I plan on snagging a spot in the competition and showing them what I'm made of."
"Ok" Trevon drawled out the word intentionally, with a teasing undertone.
"Ten minutes are up, honey. I'm off to shower." Selina answered.
Whether Trevon could unveil Angel's true identity or not, Selina darted away in a flash. Watching Selina disappear from view, Trevon caressed the residual warmth on his fingertips where she'd touched him.
The next day.
As they parted ways, Selina accompanied Trevon to the entrance of the villa, meticulously straightening his tie. As Trevon Jeaned in, he watched the beautiful face of Selina. "Are you not going to join me for the meeting with Angel?"
