Chapter 20

He never thought that things would end up like this.

Linda pushed William away and returned to the couch “William, I don’t want to make a scene. I hope you can let me go and forgive yourself, too.”

She added, “I admit, I loved you. That love of more than ten years has left me without the courage to even mention my feelings anymore.”

A gust of wind blew in through the open window, brushing against Linda, who tightened her clothes

around her.

Ever since escaping from the fire, Linda’s health had never been the same. Coupled with her days being turned upside down due to work, she was exhausted.

Over the years, she had thought it through and knew that returning to Osmo would inevitably meant meeting William again.

If she didn’t return, perhaps she would have a lifetime of peace. But if she didn’t return, her resentment

would drive her insane. So, she returned.

Her purpose in returning was simply for her own peace of mind.

Looking at William standing there, she spoke sincerely. “William, forgive yourself. If you truly feel that you

owe me, you can give me some money and disappear from my life forever.

“If you think I broke my promise by not leaving your world, I’m sorry. I’ll leave soon.”

With all that said, William remained unmoved. It was as if he hadn’t heard her words.

Linda didn’t want to say more. She walked over and opened the door,

“The proper way to treat your ex is as if they were dead. Mr. Wilson, I hope you understand. I’ve said

everything I needed to say.”

Linda made a gesture for him to leave. William looked as if his soul had been sucked away and left like a

walking corpse.

Watching his desolate figure, Linda couldn’t help but feel a twinge of pain.

That was the person she had loved for more than ten years, the most important person in her memories. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

Now, she no longer dared to love,

Seeing William walk into the elevator, she turned around and was about to close the door when she

suddenly heard Chloe’s voice. Linda, wait”

Linda paused, and Samson and Chloe walked over.

“Sorry. We were rear–ended on the way and had to deal with it,” explained Samson.

“It’s okay” Linda thought of William’s sudden appearance and the car accident four years ago. Her heart

began to ache again.

She said to Chloe, “Chloe, go take a shower and change in your room first. I need to talk to Samson.”

Chloe nodded. She understood there were some things she shouldn’t know.

Samson followed Linda into her room. Seeing the master tape playing on her laptop, he smiled and asked, “When do you plan to reveal that the famous new director Amber F is actually you, Linda?”

Linda closed her laptop. “After the editing is completed, passes the review stage, and the release date is

confirmed.”

Now was not a good time to reveal her other identity.

“Do you have any plans?” Samsons was referring to her situation with William.

“No. There’s no possibility between us anymore.” She didn’t hide that he had just been there.

Samson was surprised. “Linda, you’ve really grown up.” He was very pleased.

“I had to grow up. I can’t be a child forever.”

Only those who were loved could remain children. She had long stopped being a child since John passed

away.

“Linda, I’m sure Mr. Felix would be very happy in heaven with how you turned out.”

Linda smiled. “I hope so, too.”
