Chapter 38

She paused, taking a deep breath. Turning around, she returned to her seat.
Minutes passed. Kage sighed deeply. "Fine," the words sounded heavy on his tongue. "You can stay... engaged to the scumbag. But I wouldn't wanna see him anywhere near my property
"Assuming I have to go out with him, you don't really expect me to walk all the way to the major road to meet up with him, do you? Hell here to drive in and out, but of course, he won't even come near your doorstep The mere thought of it infuriated Kage so much, he wanted to smash something in the wall.
"I'm saying this for your own good, Sylvie, 'cause who knows? I might end up shooting a leg. He leaned toward her and said. Sylvie glared hard at him.
"Secondly," she reclined in his seat. "You're not going to prevent me from going out at any time of the day. Don't forget, I'm an adult, not some schoolgirl under her uncle's watch. So, you must never treat me like one." To that. Kage said nothing. He had his hands crossed as he simply looked at her.
Thirdly," Sylvie looked away, a slight nervousness dancing in her eyes. "I'd like my personal space. You're never to come to my bedroom. or... make any unwanted moves on me.
Kage scoffed, then laughed. "You must think so highly of yourself. Anyway, you have nothing to worry about. If it wasn't for my father's will, I'd have not gotten involved with you in the first place, because you're not exactly my type. "Yet you cried your ass out when I chose Lancelot over you," she lashed out before she could stop herself. Kage had a wider smile as he leaned forward.
"Sylvie Price, I have never cried over a woman and never will. Like i said, you think too highly of yourself."
Sylvie met his gaze unwaveringly. With a smirk, he reclined back in his seat, "Go in and get your things. I don't have all the time in the world." Huffing, she left, returning to her lodge.
It was nightfall by the time she and Kage were finally settled in the house. He had taken her to a new apartment, one that was quite big and luxurious.
He showed her to his room, and pointed his to hers, just in case there was an emergency. Their rooms were very far apart, which was definitely a good thing.
Kage had already ordered a few dresses for her before they arrived. She was to use them for the meantime before she went for a proper shopping.
She freshened up and changed into something nice, then headed downstairs.
She found Kage in the living room, seeming dressed like he was ready to go out.
Syivie was wearing a big T-shirt, which was enough to cover her bump. She still didn't feel comfortable showing her bump. "Hi. Um... I'm hungry," she said to Kage, standing before him. He stood up. "I know. Let's go."
Sylvie stared at him in amusement as he headed for the door. "Hello? Where:
are we
going?"
He paused. "To get food, what else? Or are you expecting it to fall right from the sky?"
"Maybe, not. But you didn't tell me we'd be going out."
Minutes later, Syivie and Kage were heading out to a restaurant he claimed he'd reserved for them. Syivie wondered how
much drama she'd have to face during her time with him.
They reached the restaurant and headed to the VIP room which Kage had reserved them.
How do we do order? We've just been sitting here," she said, a short while after they arrived.
Patience, Syivie. Patience."
She rolled her eyes.
A while later, various dishes were served on the table. Sylvie's eyes widened in surprise as she saw different kind of foods. What the...
Now, she understood why the table between them had been strangely large.
"Did you order everything!?" She asked in a whispered tone, excitement coursing through her veins already.
"Well, you seem to be having quite an appetite these days. I figured this would save us a lot of menu time," he casually said, "Do you need anything else?"
Her eyes twinkled ass she looked round the table. She was seeing meals she hadn't even seen before. Cod, she was going to have so much fun!
"Um... just add some ginger bread to this, she smiled at one of the waitresses.
"Yes, ma'am."
They left.
"Geez. You still had to order for something. Kage scoffed.
Syivie went ahead to pick at some of the food. "Oh, my God, for the first time since I've known you. Kage, you did something remarkably great. I feel like crying!" Her mouth was full as she spoke. Kage chuckled, taking up the glass of orange juice.
"No, I want that!" Syivie snatched it from him before he could take a sip.
His brows furrowed in surprise. "Are your eyes damaged or something! There's another glass of it, right in front of you, Sylvic,
Syivie didn't respond as she gulped from the glass, until it was reduced to half. "Yeah, I know," she set it down before her. "But I need everything. Just one glass won't be enough."
Kage was speechless.
He watched as she ate hungrily, and there was a strange part of him that felt glad knowing that the babies were behind it. He's always wondered what it'd be like having his own kids. And now, with it finally happening, it brought a foreign feeling to his heart.
"Oh, and by the way," she licked her fingers. "Why did you help me out with the Oak Investors?"
Kage had been expecting that. He didn't look at her until he was done chewing on the steak in his mouth.
"Well, why do you think?" He shrugged. "I figured you wouldn't stop ringing it in my ears that Lana was behind it. I had to help.
Syivie paused, her heart skipping a beat "So... you did it for Lana?" She cleared the lump in her throat, taking some juice. He furrowed his brows. "Of course, no. Not exactly. I just didn't want you crying nonstop in my ears. That's it."
She scoffed. "Thank you, though. It went a long way
He said nothing to that.
They didn't leave the restaurant in time. They headed home, arguing as usual from time to time. Syivie was food-drunk, all
3:21 PM
she actually wanted to do was sleep.
However, reaching the entrance of the estate, they found someone's car parked outside. Seeing their car, the person stepped out and it turned out to be Westley.
"What is he doing here?" Kage asked, disgruntled. His driver had slowed down.
Only then did Sylvie recall Westley was supposed to come say hi that evening.
"You gave him my address already?" Kage asked with a scowl.
"Y... Yeah. I mean, of course. He'll be visiting" she scoffed.
Kage's face hinted at his displeasure.
Westley had to wait outside the estate as the securities wouldn't let him in without Kage's approval. They'd endlessly called Kage to seek his permission, but he didn't pick up his calls. Kage had no idea they'd been the one calling. Being with Syivie, he didn't want a distrac Opening the door, Syivie left the car, meeting with Westley
"Hey,
"Hey. Seems you went out!"
"Yeah, had to get some food."
The door opened, revealing Kage who stepped out. "It's late, Syivie. You need to be back in ten minutes so the gate can be locked."
Sylvie glared at him. What was he doing, giving her orders?
Westley glared hatefully at him. Kage met his glare with a smirk, knowing the reason behind it.
He returned to the car which drove through the gate that had long been open.
"Sorry about that," Syivie sighed, turning to Westley.
"Is he supposed to be this controlling? I thought you two had an agreement?" Westley could barely mask the anger in his voice.
"We... We did. Don't worry, I'll talk to him."
Westley found it humiliating that he couldn't even stop Syivie from moving in with Kage. He was aware the bastard had bribed her with a position in the One Trillion Group which was very hard to turn down. He wished there was something he could've done about it He hated that the piece of scurn had the upper hand than him on that one.
He talked with Sylvie for some time.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
"Sorry about your partners, she was apologizing for the fourth time. He'd told her about it the previous day, in a very moody way, and Syivie had been too worried about it.
Somehow, she felt responsible for it since there was a chance that Kage was behind it.
"I'll try to talk to him, she added with a weary sigh.
Westley chuckled. "You're always trying to talk to him, huh? Man is still stressing you even after marriage.
Hle smoothed her hair, sighed and offered a light smile. He wouldn't deny that losing those partners had taken a big toll on him. He was still looking for a way around it, which was of course, going to be pretty hard.
"You should go in now and get some rest. 'Come on, I'll drop you off."
They got into his car which he drove to Kage's apartment. Stopping at the gate, he followed Syivic out of the car.
Goodnight. We'll talk better tomorrow," he coord.
"Alright. Goodnight, Wes."
He planted a kiss on her forehead before she left.
Kage had been watching with his heart beating furiously in his chest. He'd been restless.
He hated how they talked and laughed, how Westley touched her like he owned her. Damn it, he shouldn't be doing any of that while she was carrying his kids. He shouldn't have that motherfucking right. When Syivie returned, she was surprised to find him at the gallery, close to the window.
They exchanged silent stares for a while before Syivie took the stairs, heading to her room. God, she needed a good bath and enough sleep.
