Chapter 1511
After ending the call, Steven turned his gaze toward Mona, who was typing away at the computer.
Hearing the call end, Mona finished typing the last line before turning to look at Steven.
"I can tell you've been troubled these past couple of days. It's about that, isn't it?"
Couples often had a way of sensing each other's moods. They could pick up on changes in the other person long before anyone else could.
"Yes," Steven replied with a smile. He hadn't expected Mona to be so perceptive. Though he'd said nothing, she had already sensed something was amiss.
Perhaps it was because he had grown accustomed to hiding his feelings around others, but with her, he could be his true self. He didn't need to mask his emotions, and that openness had deepened their bond.
Mona walked over, took his hand, and placed it gently on her belly. "No matter what happens, I'll be here for you, and so will the baby. We're a family."
She had just found out she was pregnant a few days ago and hadn't told anyone yet. For now, this secret was shared only between the two of them.
Steven's eyes softened with affection. "You're right."
"If he comes back with an agenda, let him. He probably wants money or your help with something. But you're adults now-not kids from ten years ago. If he asks for something you're uncomfortable with, just say no," Mona said thoughtfully. Steven nodded, agreeing with her. "You are a wise one. You see right through everything."
Mona beamed at the compliment. "Of course! Don't forget who I'm married to. My husband is so smart and capable-how could I be anything less?" she laughed, clearly proud of herself.
"Haha... No arguments there."noveldrama

The next day was the weekend. Skylar and Joe had stayed overnight at the hot spring resort and returned to the eity the next morning. Joe had plans to meet up with a few friends, including Jeremy.
Skylar also had plans. She was meeting up with Natalie. The two of them hadn't seen each other in a while.
When Skylar arrived at Natalie's café, Natalie was busy preparing for the café's grand opening. She was deep in discussion with two designers about the shop's interior.
Skylar, not understanding much about the details, sat back with a smoothie she had picked up from a shop across the street.
From her seat, she occasionally glanced at the pedestrians outside and the bustling city views.
The café's location was
fantastic right in the heart of a prime commercial district where every inch of space was valuable. Foot traffic was the least of Natalie's concerns.
The large screen across the mall was displaying an advertisement featuring Austin. "What's got you so engrossed?" Natalie asked.
