Chapter 31
Chapter 31
Dozens of bodyguards dressed in black pushed open the door and entered in the direction of it.
James walked in, hands tucked into the pockets of his suit pants.
Upon seeing such a group of bouncers in the hall, the guests were so scared that they didn’t dare utter
a word.
Susan and Cosmo, meanwhile, were taken aback and stood there, speechless.
Scarlett’s face paled the instant she laid eyes on James.
She had expected he wouldn’t come, yet he still managed to arrive at the wedding venue.
Fearing that James would spoil the wedding, she hastily rose from her seat among the guests and
hastened towards him.
“Mr. Forrest.”“
“The contract has been signed – I’ll hand it over to you tonight,” Scarlett quickly called out to James,
who was heading towards the T stage.
James’ dark gray eyes lit up with a trace of lust as he looked her up and down, taking in her sexy
champagne-colored bridesmaid dress.
He held Scarlett’s waist with one hand and pulled her into his embrace. As he touched her, he said,
“Since you already signed it, why didn’t you give it to me sooner?”
“Mr. Forrest, I must make sure that the wedding goes off without a hitch. If you take the contract and
don’t follow through, what if you end up spoiling my friend’s wedding?” Scarlett held her revulsion in
check and handled the situation with care.
“Do you not have faith in me?”
“Yes.
Scarlett said jokingly, “Mr. Forrest, if you’re after the contract, you’ll have to wait until nightfall.”
She wore soft makeup, yet her expression was unyielding, as if there was no room for compromise.
“How can I tell if you’re being truthful to me?” James smiled.
Scarlett pulled out her phone, opened the document, and presented James with a pre-prepared fake
contract.
“Mr. Forrest, take a close look. This contract was issued by the Jackman Group and it has a seal on it.
It can’t be a forgery.”

overseeing the contract documents. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
Jackman Group was the largest partner of the Napier Group, so she was familiar with the contract and
its terms.
She drafted a contract based on Jackman Group’s other bidding templates and had it stamped.
She converted the contract with a counterfeit seal into a PDF document, making it indistinguishable
from the original.
She deliberately revealed it to James piece by piece, thus making him believe her.
“Remember to send the contract to my villa this evening.”
After securing the contract, he offered Scarlett a generous deal.
James was elated at the thought of becoming the heir of Forrest Group and winning the beauty, so he
released Scarlett.
Scarlett breathed a sigh of relief as soon as his hand moved away from her waist.
She clenched her hands, which were clammy with sweat, and gritted her teeth. “Mr. Forrest, I have
already set the address. I’ll send it to you when the time comes.
It was impossible for her to go to his villa; once she stepped into the depraved man’s domain, she knew
she would never leave
If James wanted to get the fake contract in her hands, he had to comply with her arrangements.
When James heard her say this, he frowned slightly. “What kind of shenanigans are you up to?”
Tm not trying to pull any stunts. I just don’t want to be intimate with you. I need to make sure I’m safe.”
Scarlett shook her
head
She laid bare his thoughts, causing James to feel a bit embarrassed.
His face didn’t look promising, yet upon further consideration, no matter the address she chose, he
could make her yield to hum
Taking this into consideration, James paid no attention to the address issue.
He looked up at the pair of newcomers who were walking towards them and threatened Scarlett with a
grin, “Behave yourself and send them over. Otherwise, my gang of buddies will cause a ruckus at the
wedding reception.”
He gently tapped the bridge of Scarlett’s nose with his hand, his movements doting yet his gaze filled
with a dangerous aura.
Scarlett was extremely disgusted with his touch, but on the surface, she obediently nodded.
“Mr. Forrest, don’t worry.”
With her guarantee, James left with his people.
