Sorry, I’m not Cinderella

Chapter 52: Going to the hospital to work

“Come in.”

Suddenly, she pushed open the door, a soft ‘click’, Zane was just like every day sitting on her bed listening attentively to the church bells. Without having to see him, he still knew who was standing at the door. With a mysterious smile on his lips, he said thoughtfully:

“Cinderella, are you here?” The tone didn’t say anything.

Surprised when asked, how did he know she was coming? It was as if the two had telepathy. Clara was a little confused, then slowly walked over to sit on the chair opposite the bed, her eyes never leaving Zane’s face. She felt tense, and extremely nervous, wondering what he was thinking. Did he question her? After a moment of silence, she quietly spoke:

“How do you know it’s me?”

At this time, he turned inside to look at Clara, showing a very friendly smile. Somehow, he shot her a direct look, making Clara almost panic if the mask wasn’t over her eyes.

“Only you can enter my room so quietly.”

What Zane meant was that she always moved gently, without making any noise. She always knocked on the door before she spoke, unlike the nurses who knocked with their hands and opened their mouths. Or like the doctors who came in here suddenly, most of all revealing the sound of footsteps on the floor. She is not.

Clara understood, and quickly took a breath: “So it is.”

Obviously, she thought too much, she thought he would get angry when he saw her, even harshly chased her away. Judging from her previous explanation, he didn’t have any doubts. Slightly relieved, she allowed her body to relax.

Suddenly silence broke in.

Zane waited for her to say something, at least an apology or an excuse for his sudden disappearance. Do you know how worried he was?

But she said nothing, not even intending to talk about it, she sat there slowly in thought, seemingly forgetting what to do when she got here.

Until he opened his mouth to speak first.

“You came earlier than usual today. Is there anything you want to say?”

It was true that she purposely arrived earlier than usual, the bell had not been rung yet she had arrived.

He tactfully suggested to her. Clara looked up at him, and Zane seemed to read her mind.

“I’ll just make up for the other two days of absence. You can deduct the two days I don’t show up. Now I’d like to begin.”

Clara said what she needed to say, avoiding the private matter, and with that, she stood up, put her bag down on the chair, walked over to the bed, and pulled the blanket aside. Still not fully recovered, she moved more slowly, her limbs were weak, and the dizziness kept coming. Difficult breathing.

“Pour me a glass of water.” He spoke up, grabbing her attention.

It took a few seconds for her to absorb his request.

“Okay, wait a minute.” Clara folded the blanket neatly under Zane’s feet and then went around to the other side, the table was next to the bed, raised the glass vase, and poured water into the cup, it took a lot of effort for her to adjust the wings. his shaking hands. Do not let water spill out.

“Hi.” Clara brought a glass of water, holding the glass with her right hand, holding it right in his mouth.

“It’s time to take the medicine, take the pills from the table for me.”

She turned, reaching for a small white vial, and hesitantly asked:

“How many pills?”

“Three.”

She slowly took the three pills and placed them in his palm. Then, taking the glass of water on the table, and waiting for him to bring the medicine to her mouth, Zane put three pills in her mouth, then reached out to take the glass of water in her hand. After a while, she awkwardly gave him water to drink.

The water ‘snuck up and ran down the bitter throat caused by the medicine. When there wasn’t any left in the glass he pushed it towards her, once she missed the beat when she took it.

Her slow responses made him suspicious. She took the glass, turned and placed it on the table, then gently asked him:

“Do you need anything else?”

“No.” He replied, still wondering about the strangeness she caused him.

“Then I will clean the room.”

Clara turned and walked away, suddenly he asked:

“What happened to you these two days?”

Suddenly being asked, she was confused and couldn’t think of any clever reason.

“Nothing, why do you say that?” Her voice showed nervousness, afraid he might find out.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

“Your expression is very strange, what happened? If I can be of any help just tell me?”

He tilted his head to wait for her response, Clara was really surprised by that suggestion. But then, remembering that she shouldn’t have any other request besides work, she flatly refused.

“Thanks for your kind words, I can handle it myself.”

After saying that, she walked away, not wanting him to say anything more, she was afraid of being swayed by him. Realizing she was about to dodge, he quickly reached out and grabbed Clara’s hand as she walked, very well he grabbed her aching left arm.

The sudden pain caused her to scream uncontrollably, her face contorted with pain.

“How is she?” Zane panicked, letting go of her hand. Clara did not answer, he became more impatient. He hurriedly asked, “Is your arm hurt?” Tell me what happened. Is it due to a fight with the bag snatcher? He was impatient, urging her to speak.

Clara was really in a dilemma when he leaned forward as if to check if she was okay. He knew that she would refuse to fly, but he still expected her to share with him.

“It’s too embarrassing! It’s bothering you, I’m fine, I just scratched my skin by accident, you can rest assured I’ve applied for medicine.”

Clara explained, trying to have the most natural smile to distract his curiosity. A futile action, he didn’t see anything.
