Chapter 3: Getting along with Him
Chapter 3: Getting along with Him
Following the trail of the sound, Hannah strides out of the room to the living room and outside, She was stunned to see Shawn indulging in his regular workout session.
With a great figure and perfect movement and postures, she found herself smiling for a split second, when she remembered that Shawn was still a rogue.-
He might be abusive at home and tried to beat her up. She thought, scared out of her heart. Hannah stared at his muscles, and imagined what damage it would do to her if it's ever comes in contact with her face or any part of her body.NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
As if sensing that someone was standing at a close distance, Shawn lifted up his eyes only to see Hannah leaning against the door staring down at him. He was Handsome, he knew that, but had a feeling Hannah was staring at him before of those abs.
He arched up his brow at her. "Do you want something?"
"Well yes, food" she whispered
He didn't quite get her and so he paused.
"Huh?"
"I mean, it is morning and I was about to head into the kitchen, do you want some breakfast?"
Shawn shook his head. "No I'm good, you can have your breakfast, I am not Hungry"
"Are you sure about that?" Hannah knew that after all that workout, he was going to get hungry sooner than later, if she ever did that and went Hungry for the rest of the day, she might pass out.
"Yes Hannah, I'm really good" He resumed his exercise and Hannah nodded. They needed to get along now that they were not just married but living together.
"Alright, you can continue your exercise or whatever it is you are doing" Turning back, she walked into the house. As she walked away, Shawn lifted up his head and looked at her, he was silent and continued his workout.
When Hannah entered the kitchen, she glanced back towards the door, and when she doesn't see any sign of him coming behind her, she decided that she was going to make breakfast for two. Though she knew nothing about his favorite, she knew she had to make do with what she had; pancakes were easy to come by.
As she held up her hair in a ponytail, she put her cooking prowess to work. The aroma of food wafting across the living room lingered in Shawn's nose. He tried to act as if he was not being affected by the aroma of the mouth-watering pancakes, but his throat became dry the more he acts like he wasn't affected.
"Shawn" Hannah called as she appeared by the door once again. He paused, uncertain what she intended to say.
"Hannah" He whispered, his blatant stare not wavering from her.
"Let's have breakfast together"
Right there, Shawn couldn't resist the urge to taste her food, he knew it was pancakes and could already imagine himself nibbling on the food. "You want to join you?" He was amazed that she made breakfast for two.
"Yes, I want that" She smiled holding out her hand and he grabbed those slim yet soft hands.
"What's for breakfast?" He asked although he already knew what was for breakfast.
"Pancakes, do you have any special requests?"
"Yes"
She blinked her eyes. "What is it?"
"You" he whispered and digged into his food. Her face heats up as she digged into her own food and starts to savor the mouth-watering pancakes. He would glanced at her every now and then, she rolled her eyes. Though she was enjoying his flirtatious moves a little too much.
"The pancakes?"
"What's wrong with you?"
"The taste..." he paused
She hoped he would complete his statement but Shawn did not intend to make this any easier for her. "What's wrong with the taste?" "It taste like something"
"What is it?"
"Like you, it tastes like you" he winked at her and she shook her head. He was good at it.
"Can I ask you something?"
"What is it?"
"Tell me more about you" Hannah wanted to know more about him
even though she was nothing, but t
l
his substitute bride. There was nothing she could do now that they were married, the situation could not
be helped.
The only thing that she could do was make this work, she just wanted a good life with him now that they would be living together.
When the words left her mouth, he paused on his food. "Why are you suddenly interested?"
"Nothing" Her pearly white teeth flashed down on him.
"There is nothing much to know about me, I am just as I appear to be" He continued eating.
She doesn't say another word realising that he is not about to talk any further. He was reluctant to talk about himself and she saw that through his eyes.
"Enjoy your food" She knew she dared not continue this conversation again.
There was silence on the breakfast table for a moment before Shawn began flirting with her even further and before breakfast was over, Hannah was laughing, while
el
forgetting about that one awkward moment they had earlier during Breakfast.
As she cleared the table, Shawn helped her out with the dishes, heading into the kitchen, he trailed behind her.
"I will be heading out to return the wedding gown that I rented"
Shawn was shocked. He had no clue
that a wedding dress was needed for a wedding to take place. He was even more surprised that Hannah married him in such a humble manner despite not being able to have it all on their wedding day.
Right there, he felt his heart jolt in a manner he couldn't fathom. This has never happened before.
"Why don't you go ahead while I handle it from here?"
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yes Hannah"
"Thanks"
Packing up her dress and every other thing that she had hired, she headed to the local store down the road. As store attendants caught sight of her
as she enters, they begin to laugh, whispering to each other.
"I know that I wouldn't be so stupid to rent a wedding dress" One of them stated.
"Much more a cheap and ugly wedding dress" Another added
"What do you expect someone like her can only rent? It is something that obviously looks like her, cheap and ugly"
"What a peasant! She couldn't even take care of the only wedding gown that complimented her day, I hope we never get this customer ever again" "What a poor rat! Gosh, I hate peasants!"
