Taming The CEO The Escaping Wife

Chapter 183

Chapter 183

If he had to keep looking, then Letitia might still be able to slip through the net.

“She was shipped off by Hawley. It’s a piece of cake for Elgin to know the exact location,” NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.

Vidonia let out a sigh, “Ugh.”

A plane streaked across the sky, fading into the distance.

Within a grand manor in Crestendom.

Letitia stood by the window.

It was daytime, with clear blue skies, but she knew that it was night time in AquaCity.

She had no clue where she was and couldn’t leave anyway. The only place she could roam was this manor.

The servants were all foreigners, cautious in their work, and she had nothing to say to them.

“Is this what freedom looks like? No…” Letitia mumbled to herself, “I’ve just jumped from one cage into another.” Spending a lifetime here was not the life she wanted. Maybe, it was time to have a chat with Hawley.

Letitia turned around and had just reached the landline when suddenly a shadow flashed outside the window.

“Who’s there?” She peered out cautiously but saw no one.

A chill ran down Letitia’s spine as she kept her eyes glued to the window..

She slowly approached, about to lock the window, when suddenly a hand clamped over her mouth.

Her eyes widened.

“Shh, Ms. Sanders, no offense,” whispered the nimble figure in black, “I was sent by Mr. Thompson.”

Neil?

“Don’t scream or bring the bodyguards running. If you can, just blink for me.”

Letitia did as instructed immediately.

The figure released her and stepped back, “My apologies.”

“How did Neil find me here?” Letitia asked, “What else did he say?”

“Mr. Thompson’s message is for me to assist you. Whatever trouble you’re in, just tell me, and I’ll move heaven and earth to help you.”

Neil always had a knack for showing up at the nick of time, helping her out again and again.

“Mr. Thompson said it’s all about what you want. If you’re itching to get out of here, I’ll find a way to bust you out. If you want to stay, he respects your choice,” said the figure in black.

Without a second thought, Letitia replied, “I want out.”

“There’s a lot of people on watch outside, let me brainstorm.

The figure in black frowned, with his face all serious as he racked his brain.

“Can I give Neil a call?” Letitia asked.

“Of course.”

Taking the phone from him, Létitia felt a sense of security.

Soon, Nell’s voice came through, “Hello?”

“It’s me,” Letitia said, “I never guessed you’d be the first to find me.”

“Elgin asked me to help find you.”

“What?”

“Don’t worry, I won’t spill the beans about your whereabouts to him,” Neil replied. “Do you want to stay put or head back to AquaCity?”

Letitia gripped the phone tighter, “What I can’t let go of is my mom. She’s still out cold in the sanatorium.”

After a pause, Neil said, “I can try to bring your mom to you.”

“Really?”

“No promises, Elgin is no pushover. But I’ll do my best.”

Letitia declared, “As long as my mom is with me, I have no desire to go back to AquaCity.”

She was going to look for Walden, to meet the younger master of the Ramirez family, and to gather evidence about what happened back then!

Neil asked, “You… don’t have any lingering feelings for Elgin?”

Letitia paused.

Lingering feelings? Maybe a little, but with time, she’d slowly forget him.

Elgin had only brought her pain.

Just as Letitia was about to reply, suddenly, the roar of a sports car erupted downstairs.

Someone had arrived at the manor!

The figure in black and Letitia exchanged glances, looking down together.

Then they saw a Lamborghini.

The door swung open, and the person who stepped out… It was Elgin!

How could it be him?

“Elgin found out so soon…” Letitia’s face turned ashen.

Although this escape wasn’t of her will, Hawley’s tactics were more clever. But Elgin had found her so quickly.

Letitia couldn’t help thinking if in the future she wanted to escape from Elgin on her own, would it be totally impossible?

Could she ever escape his web?

Elgin had arrived too quickly.

“Ms. Sanders, I gotta split,” said the figure in black. “I can’t blow my cover.”

“Okay.”

Letitia covered for his leave, drew the curtains, and acted as nothing had happened.

Downstairs, the sound of footsteps thudded.

With each step, it felt like they were stomping on her heart.

Elgin raced up the stairs, taking two at a time, desperate to see Letitia quicker!

He had flown for over ten hours and driven for two more to get here.

Elgin bit his lip, looking at the bedroom door getting closer and closer.

Just as he reached the door, it suddenly opened from the inside.

Letitia appeared before him, and their eyes met

Letty.” Elgin said, pulling her forcefully into his embrace, “I’ve finally found you.”

A long-missed sense of reassurance filled his entire being.

At that moment, all weariness vanished.

The feeling of her in his arms was the ultimate satisfaction.

Thank goodness, she was still there, he had found her.

Letitia smelled Elgin’s scent and noticed the stubble on his chin.

It was rare to see him look so haggard.

Elgin had come all this way just for her.

“Elgin…” Letitia asked, “Did you come just for me?”

“Yeah. I’ve come to take you back.”

She leaned into his embrace, at a loss for words.

If Elgin had arrived just a few minutes later, she could have left with the man in black,

escaping the gaze and control of the Ramirez family.

But fate had other plans.

Elgin had timed his arrival just right, and she could not escape his grasp.

“I’m taking you home.” Elgin tightened his arms, with his chin resting on her shoulder, “From now on, I won’t let you out of my sight again.”

After a few seconds of silence, Letitia asked, “What if I want to be out of your sight?”

“Letty, don’t say things like that, it’ll only tick me off.”

“I wasn’t just talking hot air. If I didn’t want to leave, why would I be here?”

“Grandpa already spilled the beans. You were forced to go abroad,” Elgin replied. “Don’t try to pull the wool over my eyes.”

What? Hawley fessed up?

After all the trouble to send her packing, how could he spill the guts to Elgin that fast?

What on earth was Hawley thinking?

“You always know how to say something that cuts deep,” Elgin said. “Letty, this time, it wasn’t your call to leave. I get that.”

“No,” Letitia said, “I was on board with it too.”

“I’ll just take it as you feeding me a line. I won’t buy it.” Elgin couldn’t and wouldn’t believe it.

Letitia chuckied lightly, “It’s not like I haven’t slipped away before. It’s just that you always managed to haul me back.*
