The Billionaire Contracted Wife

CHAPTER FIFTEEN

The big day had arrived, October 31st, The Halloween Masquerade Ball. The day of ghosts and ghouls and candy’s.

Cayne’s mom had gone through the liberty of buying me a costume. And I had it on already.

I wore a long, flowing white halter top dress. The fabric was a good choice, it’s soft and beautiful. I wore a gold bracelet on the upper arm of a snake. I wore a short, black wig that hung just above my shoulders and a golden headpiece that- from the weight- had to be made with real gold and diamonds. I wore a typical Egyptian cat eye with light golden eyeshadow. My face now seemed to have an Egyptian glow. I even wore sandals that came up to my knee.

I grinned at my reflection. I had to admit it, I looked very hot. There was a soft knock at the door and Layla peeked her head in. She slipped into the room, dressed as an attractive vampire. Women would hate her just by her looks right now. She is a very beautiful and hot vampire.

“Whoah, Raszhiel,” she breathed, gaping at me. “You look hot. Girl, I know Cayne must want to hit that.”

I grinned at her. “You look pretty hot and sexy as a vampire too.”

She rolled her eyes and said, “Oh shut up bitch. The guests have arrived, it’s like an arena in there. I mean there are literally thousands of people right now downstairs.”

I frowned, feeling slightly nervous. “Well, let’s get down there and get ’em,” I said, shaking off my nervousness.

3rd Person POV

Lincoln stood in the back with the table overflowing with food. He kept an eye on both Nicholas and Cayne while simultaneously scanning the room of Raszhiel. He didn’t see her, though. And it made him anxious.

Minutes later, he finally saw her. She was walking down the stairs gracefully, linked arm in arm with some brown haired lady dressed as a vampire.

His first thought was, “She’s so beautiful.”

She was dressed as Cleopatra, only she should’ve been Isis or Aphrodite. She looked more like a goddess than a human.

Anica came slinking over to him, her eyes were on Raszhiel just like everyone else.

Cayne’s jaw was slacked just like Nicholas- who was always internally dead- was gaping at Raszhiel like she was a religion he was more than willing to convert to.

“Tonight is the night. You and I will both get what we want,” Anica said softly in his ears. “You get Cleopatra’s knock off and I’ll get the 1950’s gangster.” She grinned like an evil witch and bounced off.

Lincoln smiled as Raszhiel laughed when Nicholas kissed her hand, driving Cayne to yell at him. Lincoln could even hear him even from a distance.

“Don’t kiss her hand, motherfucker. She’s mine.”

Lincoln chuckled. Poor naive Cayne. He should enjoy these next few hours with Raszhiel because after tonight, he’d never see her again.

Raszhiel’s POV

We walked outside the room and went downstairs. My whole body is shaking with nervousness. We then arrived in front of a long staircase. Looking down, I saw thousands of people. Talking, laughing and enjoying the party. We both walked at a very long staircase, people’s eyes were on me, like I was an ice cream.

Layla was right, the mansion was packed, crowded with customized men, women and children.NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

I am enjoying the party but as time went on, I became more and more tired. I had been asked to dance so many times that I had already lost a count. I had eaten two pieces of pumpkin pie, complimented numerous people on their customs and smiled so much that my face right now is already aching.

Minutes later, I ended up on the balcony. I was ecstatic to be away from the craziness of the party inside. Cayne kept on glancing at me, but the women swarming around him made it nearly impossible for him to leave.

I smiled. He did look extremely sexy dressed as a 1950’s gangster. Not that I’m interested in him or something.

The door of the balcony opened then it closed again. I smiled and turned around, expecting to see Cayne. Instead of blue eyes, I met a pair of piercing sad gray eyes.

My breath stopped for a minute. I knew exactly who I was facing. Lincoln.

He removed his mask and sure enough the light from the party inside illuminated the planes of his face, exposing his always sad, wistful expression. I suddenly felt afraid of his presence.

“How did you get in here?” I stammered, my voice barely a whisper.

He cocked his head to the side and said, “Anica.”

I nodded and swallowed, feeling a little sick.

“So….. you’re gonna kill me now?”

Dammit, Raszhiel! Why would you ask him that? Are you stupid? My inner self ranted.

He laughed for the first time. The sound was low, hearty and deep.

“Anica and I came to an…. agreement. I’m no longer killing you.”

I looked at him, not daring to believe my ears.

“You’re not?” My voice was quiet and tentative.

He shook his head and answered, “However, since I’m sparing your life, I must ask something of you.”

I didn’t want my life to be on the line again. I just nodded.

He held out his hand and said, “Come with me. We’ll only be gone for a few minutes.”

I wasn’t so sure if I’d trust him. At the same time though, I’m thinking about the thought. If I don’t want to come with him, he might put my life on the rocks again and kill me now, and I didn’t want that.

So I took his hand with so much hesitation and nervousness. I was so scared when he pulled me close to him, jumping into the darkness with me in his arms.
