The Billionaire’s Bargain Bride

Chapter 14

Breakfast and Ties

SADIE

I woke earlier than Cenric to a cramp in my lower belly. I rolled out of bed, hoping I wouldn’t wake him currently sleeping under the comfy satin duvet. I had completely forgotten that today was a day of the month, and I had no tampons. Thankfully, my first day didn’t flow like a river.

I dialed Devin for help.

“Mrs. Wollf?”

“Can’t you just call me Sadie? I’m younger than you, yet you make me look like a seventy-year-old grandma.”

“No, ma’am.” Jeez.

“Fine, but don’t annoy me, and I need your help.”

“Anything.”

“Can you drive to a convenience store or the nearest pharmacy?”

“Is something wrong?” His voice changed to alert mode.

“No. Are you going to drive me there or not?”

“Just tell me what you need, and I’ll get it for you.”

I growled, “I told you not to annoy me. I want to buy something myself. Wasn’t my husband telling you to take me anywhere I want? This is an emergency, Devin.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

“Then take me there, or I will wake him up and let him talk to you.”

“It’s five in the morning. Let Mr. Wollf sleep, ma’am. I think I know what you need.”

“No, you don’t.”

“Be right back.”

“I hate you right now.”

Irritated, I rolled my eyes and hung up the call. As quietly as I could, I walked across the floor, went to the kitchen, and thought of what to prepare for breakfast. I knew nothing about Cenric, what he ate, his favorite color, music—those simple things.

I followed my instinct. I checked what was in the fridge. Staring alone at the content gave me already a headache, but there were vegetables, fruits, meat, dairies, drinks, and water.

It had been days since the last time I went to the gym, and we didn’t burn calories in bed as well. I threw some kale, banana, yogurt, and I added berries into the blender to sweeten a little bit.

I started putting strips of bacon into the pan, stuffed some loaf bread into the toaster, and prepared the coffeemaker. While I waited for it to be done, I poured my smoothie into a glass when I felt someone was staring at me.

There he was, walking in my direction like a god. His hair was messy, but he looked yummy enough to be my breakfast.

“You left the bed.” Yay! His way of good morning, but he didn’t sound grumpy.

“Morning, big bad Wollf. One of us should leave the bed because my stomach kept on grumbling.”

He cupped my face. “I think I know why.”

My brows knitted in confusion. “And what is it?”

He pressed his lips against mine for a couple of seconds before he smiled. “You don’t have that pain?”

I rolled my eyes. “The breakfast is burning. And I just guessed what do you eat.”NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

“I eat anything, babe. In fact, I can’t wait for something I’ve been dying for, for—I don’t know how long.”

“What is it?” I asked innocently.

He came over to help me with the bacon. I grabbed a couple of eggs from the fridge and fumbled to search for a bowl and a whisker. Then I placed toasted bread on the plate.

I was about to crack the egg when I noticed my smoothie was half empty. “You drink my smoothie?”

“I believe that’s us.” He poured what was left in the blender. “What’s yours is mine, babe.”

“And what’s yours isn’t mine.”

He laughed out loud. “I didn’t remember I said that.”

“Morning!” Devin walked in with a plastic bag.

I rushed towards him to snatch the bag before Cenric found out what it was. It was my first instinct. “Thank you.”

With my cheeks burning in embarrassment, I ran away from them. “I’ll be right back!”

My father and my brother maybe were assholes, but for one thing, I was taught right about menstruation etiquette. It was a part of being a woman to have a monthly period, and there was nothing to be ashamed about it, but I also kept in mind to practice proper hygiene and make sure you wouldn’t leak in public.

“You okay?” my husband asked as I came back with a smile on my face.

“Sorry about that.”

“Never apologize,” he replied.

“Call me if you need anything.”

“Thanks, Devin.”

As soon as his back faded, my husband asked, “Why didn’t you wake me up and let me get it for you?”

“Don’t tell me you’re the type of guy who controls even what brand of tampons I should use?”

“What? No. Never. I would not do that.” He assisted me to sit on the stool. The scrambled egg was done. He had already divided our breakfast into two plates. “I told you I will take care of you, and that includes your needs.”

“Here we go again.” I cut him off. “With the needs.”

“You know what I mean.”

“I told him to send me to a convenience store.”

“He told me because I asked him what was he carrying. I also knew you’re in your period.”

With wide eyes, I stared at him. “How?”

“Your smell becomes strong.”

I sniffed my underarms. I didn’t smell bad.

He chuckled, pushing my arms down. “You don’t smell.”

“Thank God. Wollf suits you. You can sniff me like a wolf,” I snorted.

“Last night, I could literally smell your arousal.”

I almost spat out my eggs. My face reddened. “That’s not true.”

“Don’t lie to me now, babe.” His smile was mischievous, and I itched to punch it off.

“Whatever.” I dug in silently while he was still watching me, studying my reaction. When he didn’t let it go, I said, “So what?”

“Glad we feel the same way.” He finally enjoyed his meal.

After my embarrassing breakfast with him, he went to shower while I volunteered to clean up the kitchen.

He just came out of the bathroom, and I knew he intentionally dropped the towel when he noticed me coming to his massive dark and shiny wood walk-in closet. He actually let me use half of it, separated by the counter.

Well, damn, I still didn’t get a chance to see him completely naked. Now he was in front of me, my lips dried instantly. He had the sexiest back, the way his muscles flexed when he moved, and damn those biceps. It reminded me of Thor in his first movie.

“I’ve seen better.” I swallowed the clog in my throat, and I had to lick my lips a couple of times, but my pulse was pounding so hard, and I knew I was blushing. My entire face was flamed.

“Just say you like my ass.” Thank God he was already wearing boxers when he came to face me. He lifted me in one swift move, allowing me to sit on the island like I weighed nothing.

“You have a fine ass, husband.” I hit it when he turned around to choose his pants.

“A sexy ass.”

“Whatever. Your ego is as big as your bicep right now.”

He just smirked. “I take that as a compliment.”

I rolled my eyes. “It’s absurd coming from me when you can literally get it from women wherever you go, knowing like you with deep pockets and runs a multi-billion dollar company.”

“And hot as me.” He chuckled. “Don’t be jealous. It doesn’t matter what they say, but it does when it comes from you.” He framed my face with his large hands and kissed me loudly. “You’re my wife, and remind yourself what you said in Jamaica? You have your leash around my neck?”

He went to choose a necktie from his drawer and picked the metallic cobalt blue.

“Nice choice.”

He showed it to me. “Really?”

“Yeah. A gift from one of your girlfriends?”

He shook his head in amusement. “Nice try, but no. Theo gave it to me on my birthday last year.” He draped the tie around his neck like he’d done it a million times.

“Who’s Theo?”

“My assistant, and he’s gay, has a boyfriend, and please, don’t tell me to fire him because he’s good at what he does. You might like him if you like his taste in color.”

“When is your—” I stopped with wide eyes. “Your birthday is in three days?”

“Yup.” He leaned over to kiss me on my nose. “Don’t buy anything. You are quite enough as my birthday present.”

“And you’re turning twenty-eight. Age is just a number. What I mean, you’d be seven years older than me.”

“One of us should be more mature to make this relationship work.”

My eyes narrowed. “Are you telling me that I still act like a kid?”

“Just right now, you think what I said negatively. I’m not just thinking of today, babe. I think of our future, for our business, and maybe one day, we plan to have kids, so I need to work hard for us.”

As much as it sounded promising coming from him, I needed to keep myself in check from losing in a Land of Promise.

“Can I go out?”

“Sadie, you’re not locked up in a tower. Just be careful and—”

“Devin is coming with me blah blah blah, of course. I just want to meet Zhuri. You may also do a background check on her to make sure your property is in good hands.”

“For the last time, I just want you to be safe. And yeah, I did.”

I held my mother’s necklace around my neck, the only thing I had left for her. It was a dainty chain with a small diamond heart pendant. “Thanks.”

“For what?”

“I feel safe here, with you.”

“Enjoy, and use the card. I’ll be home before dinner. Don’t cook. I’ll take care of it.”
