Chapter 16
Chapter 16
In the midst of the chaos, Alison quickly turned around and explained, “I’m not Penelope.”
Lucian frowned. Was she pretending not to know him? Was it because he had been loo busy to pay attention to her these past few days?
Allison didn’t dare let him continue questioning her. Just as she was about to leave the classroom, the principal behind Lucian glared at her unhappily, “Class is about to start; get back to your seal!*
Her steps halted and she had no choice but to return to her seat.
The burning gaze from behind followed her. Allison really wanted to hide under the table.
On the podium, Lucian’s deep voice came through the speakers, “Hello everyone, I’m Lucian. For the next half semester, I’ll be teaching you finance.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the whole classroom erupted.
The girls started asking questions.
“Mr. Lindberg, do you have a girlfriend?” Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
“Mr. Lindberg, can you write down your contact information?”
“Mr. Lindberg, what type of girls do you like?”
With a slight smile on his lips, Lucian’s gaze landed pointedly on Allison, “I’m sorry, I already have a fiancée.”
Sighs of disappointment filled the classroom, while Allison was completely stunned.
Daisy whispered in her ear, “Why do I feel like Lucian’s looking at you weirdly? Is there something going on between you two?”
Allison lowered her head guiltily, “What are you talking about? Everyone in town knows his fiancée is Penelope.”
“True… but I really didn’t expect Lucian to come to teach here. As the future heir of the Lindberg Corporation, I thought I wouldn’t see him until after graduation.”
Allison couldn’t hear the rest of what Daisy was saying.
She was considering how to avoid him in the future.
At that moment, Lucian spoke, “Everyone quiet down; I’m going to take attendance.”

Allison felt like she was about to collapse and her palms were sweaty with nerves.
“Allison.” After a while, a deep, magnetic male voice rang out.
He read her name with a hint of emotion.
Allison stood up and lowered her head.
She deliberately lowered her voice and softly said, “Here.”
She quickly sat down after speaking.
Lucian glanced at the attendance sheet and furrowed his brows slightly.
Allison…
So she was that little maid from the Flanagan family.
He remembered her always wearing a mask and only catching a fleeting glimpse of her
Upon closer inspection, she indeed did not resemble Penelope.
He hid the deeper meaning in his eyes and said with a cool voice, “Allison, stand up and answer this, what’s the meaning of interbank lending?”
Allison remained seated, not yet reacting.
Daisy gently nudged her arm, “Hey, Mr. Lindberg is calling you.”
Allison quickly stood up, but her mind was in a mess.
This was a simple question, but she hadn’t been attending class recently. Plus, she was taking this elective just to fill her credits, so she didn’t take it too seriously.
Biting her lip, Allison had no answer.
Lucian made a mark on the attendance sheet and said quietly, “Come to my office after class.”
What?
Allison looked up sharply.
Going to his office? Wouldn’t that increase the chances of him recognizing her?!
She quickly thought of excuses to leave.
At that moment, Lucian said with a hint of a smile, “Allison, if I don’t see you after class, you might fail this course.”
Allison was speechless.
Why did she feel like Lucian knew something?
Finally, the class was over.
Allison stood outside Lucian’s office, took a deep breath, and knocked on the door.
The next moment, the office door was opened. Before Allison could react, the man inside grabbed her wrist and pulled her in.
With a bang, the door was closed. Allison’s back was against the door, and she could smell the fresh scent of the man.
The intimate scene she had with Lucian that night flashed through her mind, and her face irnmediately turned red.
Then she heard the man say coldly, “Tell me, what’s your purpose for trying so hard to get in front of
