Chapter 318 Break Up
Chapter 318 Break Up
Hayden’s face became pale at the sight of the watch in Joseph’s hand.
She lowered her head in an attempt to check under the quilt but failed to muster the courage to.
What happened last night?
“Whose watch is this?” Joseph smacked the watch onto the bed, fire burning in his eyes.
Hayden groaned when the watch hit her. Even the quilt cushioned the strike, it still hurt her ankle.
Gritting her teeth, she said. “I don’t know.”
She had no recollection of what happen last night, not even how and when she got back to her room.
All she could recall was that she drank a little milk tea.
Milk tea?
Her face changed for an instant. “Lyon.”
Joseph’s face was dark, his hand digging in his hair and grabbing, aggression in his eyes. He bellowed
with fury.
“Where is he?”
Hayden was scared. Shuddering, she looked at Joseph in panic.
“I don’t know.”
She grabbed at the quilt tightly, stuttered. “Last night…no, impossible…there must be a
misunderstanding…don’t freak out, I’ll ask the attendant.”
She tried to get out the bed when she finished but was suddenly aware of the fact that she was naked.
She withdrew as she tightened her grip at the quilt.
Looking at her evenly, Joseph bent forward slightly and grabbed a corner of the quilt.
Wide-eyed, Hayden held the quilt tight to cover her chest, fear and resistance in her eyes. “No.”
“I thought you said you want to ask the attendant. You gotta get out of bed first.” Joseph said coldly as
he wrenched the quilt off Hayden.
“Ah…”
Hayden shrieked, in haste, she pulled the bed sheet to cover herself.
“Joseph! You are such a jerk!”
Joseph stood by the bed with loathing so obvious in his eyes. The light behind him shed a shadow over
Hayden.
“Think of what you have done before you accuse others.”
“I told you I don’t know!” She yelled out, her eyes red.
Joseph took a deep breath, his eyes filled with apathy.
“If you can look me in the eyes and tell me nothing had ever happened in this room last night, then I’ll NôvelDrama.Org content.
believe you.”
She looked into his eyes, and the aggression and coldness in them were stung at her.
Under his fierce stare, she somehow regained her composure.
“Believe me? Is that so? Will you? How did you know I am here? How did you get in here? What a
perfect timing! You knew this is a trap, but still, you jumped in yourself.”
Hayden laughed self-mockingly.
“What else do you want me to say? You think you know what happened, don’t you? I don’t want to lie to
you; I don’t even know how I got here last night. You blame me, who can I blame?
If she didn’t see Pola at the party and had an argument with Joseph, he wouldn’t have wandered in the
streets, ran into Lyon and ended up sleeping in a hotel.
Who to blame actually?
Wrapped in the sheet, she got out of the bed and picked up her clothes, heading to the bathroom.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
Joseph grabbed her arm.
In rage, he lost his sanity and couldn’t think about all the innuendos. All he could think of was that
Hayden was naked under the sheet.
“You don’t have to understand.” She took a deep breath, pretending to be calm.”It’s what it is now, what
else can you do?”
Her watery eyes manifested her grievance. But even so, she wouldn’t put down her pride.
A thought of Joseph’s would decide their ending.
He said word by word, his face dark, his knuckles white.
“Look what you have done. And still, you are asking me what I can do?”
Blood crept up in her eyes, Hayden said gruffly.
“Then break up. It’s not the first time anyway.”
When she said she wanted to break up, she hardly had any feeling. Such fuss was nothing compared
to the recent trauma she’d been through.
Even what might happen last night hit her harder than breaking up with Joseph did.
“What did you say?”
“Break up.” she kept her head low. “I said it clear enough. You go find Noah’s mother, she’s self –loved
and self-disciplined, she’s a better woman then I am.”
She wrenched her arm out of Joseph’s hand when she finished.
But then she felt a sudden pain on her shoulder and she stumbled. And the next thing she saw was the
ceiling, she fell on the bed.
Staring at Hayden, Joseph pressed at her shoulder with his right hand and propped himself with the left
one.
Hayden grabbed at the sheet tightly.
“What are you doing?”
“Do you think that breaking up with me is easier than explaining what happened last night?” Joseph
gritted his teeth. “Is breaking up the solution to you no matter what happens?”
He didn’t believe Hayden would betray him, but people lose composure. When he received the
anonymous call earlier the day, he’s worrying about whether Hayden met some trouble, not her
cheating on him.
When he finally got here after running through red lights and knew that she’s safe, he took a relief. But
then he saw something that plunged him into coldness.
“I’ll figure this out. And it’s my call whether we break up or not.”
His words reverberated around the room. Hayden felt the weight on her lessened and then she heard
Joseph slam the door. The banging sound jarred her back to the present.
Feelings stirred inside her when she sat up slowly and stared at the closed door. Tears trickled down
her cheeks.
Ever since her birth, her life had been like a derailed train, you would never know where it’s headed
to.
