The employees felt that Samantha was practically forcing them to resign. Not only was she pushing them out the door, but she also seemed intent on withholding their wages, making her behavior utterly outrageous.

It was evident that a new broom swept clean as she was making them pay for their actions.

One by one, the employees ripped off their name badges, their faces flushed with anger. "Samantha, we are returning these name tags to you. Let us make it clear: you did not fire us. We have chosen to resign. You are a worthless boss, and we have no desire to work for you any longer."

Worthless boss?

This group of employees...

Samantha nodded, her expression unfazed. "Very well. You enjoy hurling insults, don't you? Since you take pleasure in cursing at me, let's settle this. Your wages will be forfeited as an apology for your behavior. How does that sound?"

The employees stared at her, stunned.

"Samantha, how can you say such things? Who gave you the right to make such demands? You think it's fair to take away our hard-earned wages just because we spoke our minds?"

"Samantha, this is outrageous! Do you realize we could sue you for this?"

"Exactly! Don't think you can intimidate us just because you're in charge."

After absorbing their outrage, Samantha simply nodded. "So, you want to sue me, right? I'll gladly ask my lawyer to negotiate with you."

With that, she pulled out her phone and called her attorney. She briefly explained the situation, then turned her gaze back to the agitated employees. "Stay put. My lawyer will arrive shortly to handle this matter. I have other pressing engagements. If any of you wish to call your attorney, feel free to do so."

As soon as she finished speaking, she hurried out of the office. The employees were left in a state of panic, glancing at one another in disbelief.

"Do you think she plans to sue us?"

"I have no idea. She doesn't seem like she's joking around."

"What do we do now?"

"Should we just leave? If her lawyer shows up, we might be in serious trouble."

"What about our wages? Are we just going to let that go

One of the employees chimed in, "In the grand scheme of things, do you think wages matter now? Are you trying to get us all arrested?"

"Let's get out of here, quickly!"

They moved collectively toward the exit but were promptly blocked by security guards waiting outside. Samantha had instructed them beforehand that no employee could leave the premises without her permission. After all, they were required to remain there until her lawyer arrived.

Samantha meant every word she said. If she declared she would sue them, she would undoubtedly follow through with it. She intended to teach them about the consequences of speaking ill behind her back.

The employees felt a genuine wave of anxiety wash over them.

After leaving the company, Samantha roamed the streets, searching for Sylvan's familiar figure. She had searched for what felt like an eternity, but he was nowhere to be found.

Just then, her assistant approached, holding a piece of clothing in her hands. "Ms. Wallace, here is the outfit you requested."

Spotting her assistant, Samantha hurriedly asked, "Have you seen Sylvan?"

The assistant shook her head. "No, I haven't."

"Look for him immediately. If you locate him, call me right away. Understand?"
