"What are you doing right now?"
"Shooting."

"I'm the director."
"Can I visit you?"
On the shooting site, Maria was chatting with Anthony on WhatsApp.But she was stunned when she received a message from him asking if he could come to the shooting site to visit.
After thinking for a moment, she replied, "If you want to."
As far as she was concerned, the engagement between her and Anthony was just a show.
So when Anthony asked if he could visit her, she assumed that it was because he wanted to play his part well, and not because he actually wanted to see her.
Therefore, she kept her reply curt but amiable.
Whatever decision he took, she was willing to play along with it.
"Wow, you're so cool!"
Lyndsey's voice suddenly came from behind, startling Maria.
Standing nearby, Lyndsey was peeping at Maria's WhatsApp chat with Anthony.
Although she was just barely able to make out the words, she couldn't help but fawn over Maria's response.
"The Wilson family is really powerful, so I was worried that they would bully you.But I couldn't have been more wrong! No wonder you're my idol. You even have Anthony under your control."
Being a huge fan of Maria, Lyndsey couldn't help but continue to flatter her.
Maria's eyebrows twitched, and she opened her mouth to say two soft but firm words.
"Shut up."
How dare Lyndsey peep at her private conversation? If it happened again, she wouldn't let her off so easily.
Half a day after Maria took over as the acting chief director, filming came to a halt.
The reason was simple: Maria hadn't given any guidance to the actors and actresses.
For the first half of the day, the cast and crew shot the scenes based on what Francis had briefed them on so far.
But once they were done with those scenes, they had no idea how to proceed on their own.
Everyone naturally turned to Maria, waiting for her instructions.
"Miss...Miss Jenkins, isn't it time for you to tell us what to do in the follow scenes?" the assistant director reminded her shortly.
Most of the people stared at Maria in an unfriendly way.
"Vivian, does Maria really know how to be a director?" Sally asked in a low voice, and the supporting actors and actresses beside her also strained their ears to listen.
As a cast member, Vivian was well aware that everyone's dissatisfaction with Maria was close to hitting the limit.
Someone might blow up at Maria at any second now.
All Vivian had to do was fan the fire.
"I know for sure that Maria never learned how to be a director," Vivian replied cautiously, making sure that her volume was loud enough for people around her, but not Maria in the distance.
Surely, their faces immediately darkened.
They were all professional actors, and the last thing they wanted to do was to be in a bad show.
One bad show could ruin an actor's career forever.
"But who knows, maybe she's naturally talented.Maybe she is born to be a director,"
Vivian continued innocently, as if she was really giving Maria the benefit of the doubt.
"How could anyone be born to be a director? Directing is something you can be good at only after learning and doing it for years," one of the actors replied, pursing his lips in displeasure.
He looked at Maria hatefully, as if he wanted to go over and drag her out of the director's chair.
The others nodded in agreement.
Their distrust of Maria grew.
At this moment, Maria picked up Francis’ megaphone and spoke.
"The actors playing the main leads and supporting roles, come over here.I am going to take you through the next few scenes."
Hearing this, the whole crew was stunned.
Well, that was, everyone except Lyndsey.
Jay noticed Lyndsey take out a pen and a notebook at once, like a studious student. Was she about to take notes?!
"Vivian, is Maria really going to give us directions on how to act?" Sally asked incredulously.
Obviously, she didn't believe one bit that Maria had the ability.
Vivian was also dumbfounded.
As far as she knew, Maria might not even have read the original book of the Legend of Anne.
How could someone without any knowledge of the source material or the skill and experience of a director take the helm?
