The Woman From Hell

Chapter 2718

The room was not cleaner than the living room. It was like a pig's den.

My eyes had gone wide, I had never seen such a messy room in all the years I was alive.

"Are you... raising pigs in here?"

Marius hurriedly came in front of me to block my view before pushing me out. "I already told you not to go in. Now my image is completely ruined." He looked frustrated.

As it turned out, he was nervous because of this.

I cleared my throat and replied, "How about I help you tidy up?"

"No. if President Grant finds out, he'll have my head." Marius waved his hand repeatedly as he closed the door behind him with the other hand.

After confirming that Marius was okay, I could finally relax. "Okay, then I'll see you tomorrow."

Marius likely caught the change in my expression and smiled treacherously. "Judging from your range of expressions, did you think I was going to move away?" Admittedly, I did.

"Yes. Your living room made it look like you were going to leave. I was shocked. I'm telling you, if you dare disappear quietly into the night then our friendship ends." I was not joking.

Catching a glimpse of the seriousness of my expression, Marius chuckled. "Don't worry, I won't do that."

"That would be the best. I'll be off first then if nothing else."Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

"Be careful on the road."

I slowly drove off onto the road as Marius watched me.

Gareth should be back by now.

I was about to head to Gareth's apartment again when Sylvester called me.

"Wanda, I'll give you one last chance. If you don't come today, you'll never learn the truth. The truth only grandfather knows. Even if you look for Gareth, it will not help." How did he know that I was going to go look for Gareth?

"You're following me again!" There was anger in my voice.

On the other end of the call,

Sylvester was not as furious as he

used to be. On the contrary, he

seemed calmer. "Our intentions are good this time. Grandfather has been hiding what actually happened that year and never told anyone. It's because you showed up this time that he has the urge to share it. Grandmother will leave Whaldorf City forever tomorrow. If you miss him today, then he'll never say anything about it ever again. Your choice. We're waiting for you at Yard Mansion."

After saying all that, Sylvester ended the call.

This call unsettled me for a long time. Sylvester's abrupt sincerity made me waver.

I should still go to Gareth's to see if he had returned.

Thinking that, I went to Gareth's house. Unfortunately, he was still not back.

Was this God's plan?

Getting back into my car, I hesitated about whether to go or not to go to Yard Mansion.

In my hesitation, I called Theo and shared the situation with him.

"If you really want to know, go. I support you." Theo's words gave me strength. "If you're going now, I'l have Keith follow you immediately and break in to look for you if something were to happen."

His tone was firm and it dispelled all my concerns.

"Okay, I'll go now."

"Alright. Drive slowly. I'll let Keith know now."

"Alright."

After talking to Theo, I was relieved and turned the car around.

My mother's delicate face came to mind.

Mom, what happened to you that forced you to leave me first... The closer I got to Yard Mansion, the heavier my heart felt. Theo sent a message. "Don't worry, it's all been arranged."
