CHAPTER 92
Chapter 0092
That night, while Hansel was working on the tasks that had piled up, Calvin called. “Hans, we haven’t seen each other in a while. Shall we grab a drink?”
“Sure.”
Hansel walked out of the study. After changing his outfit and heading outside, he found Ingrid at the front door. Their eyes met, and both of them were caught off–guard.
“Why did you come back?”
“Dear, are you on your way out?”
They asked at the same time.
“Yes,” Hansel replied.
Ingrid bit her lip awkwardly. “Then… did I come at the wrong time?”
Hansel said nothing.
“I came after class. I didn’t play hooky… You were really too rough last night, so my–my privates are a bit inflamed. I’ve been feeling uncomfortable all day… NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
“I don’t have the guts to go to the pharmacy myself because I’m scared that people will make fun of me. I remembered that there were a few anti–inflammatory ointments in the first–aid kit here, so I came over…” she stammered while explaining, afraid that Hansel would think that she was a bother.
When he didn’t reply after a long while, she gritted her teeth and turned toward the gate. “I–I’ll go back to school now!”
After taking a couple of steps forward, Hansel spoke. “Come here.”
Ingrid’s lips curled into a smile, but she suppressed it the moment she turned to look at him. “Dear…”
Hansel got out the first–aid kit and found the ointments. After reading the description, he said, “These won’t do. They can’t be used on those parts…”
Ingrid was nearly in tears. “Then what should we do? Should I go to the pharmacy? But… but how could I bring myself to say those things…”
She was mortified.
Hansel sighed and got up. “Come on, I’ll take you to the hospital.”
“There’s no need… I don’t want to keep you from your business…”
Hansel picked up his car keys. “It’s nothing important. Calvin just invited me for a drink. It’s fine if I go a bit later.”
“After we see the doctor, can I go with you?”
“Sure.”
Ingrid’s face was as red as an apple as she walked out of the hospital.
“Sorry,” Hansel said.
“It’s alright, I… liked it. So long as it’s with you, everything is enjoyable.” Ingrid’s eyes sparkled with innocence and some naïveté.
The more indifferent and nonchalant she acted, the more Hansel couldn’t get over it. In the end, this had only happened because he had mistaken her for someone else.
He didn’t dare to imagine how badly she would bawl if he broke up with her now.
“Get in.” Hansel opened the driver’s side door of the car.
“Huh?” Ingrid asked dazedly. “Where are we going?”
“Didn’t you want to come with me to drink with Cal?”
“Oh.” Ingrid nodded and got into the passenger’s seat.
In the lively private room, heavy metal music blasted from the speakers. Calvin raised his glass, lost in his own world and singing to the music.
Zach kicked him. “Get lost. Don’t do those poses in front of me. It’s disgusting.”
“What do you know? You should try these new disco moves that I just learned.”
“No, I’m not shameless enough to do something so embarrassing.” Zach ducked to the side, looking repulsed. “Where’s Hans? Didn’t you give him a call earlier? Why isn’t he here yet?”
“I don’t know. He said he would definitely come,” Calvin replied.
Zach was quiet for a moment. “Did you invite Sam too?”
“Yes.”
“You have huge balls!”
Everyone knew that Hansel and Sam were no longer friends, yet Calvin had the guts to bring the two together. Did he perhaps have a death wish?
“Do you think I’m stupid?” Calvin snorted. “Sam said he wasn’t coming, that’s why I called Hans. Hey, speak of the devil. He’s here.”
