Chapter 72: Efforts
Chapter 72: Efforts
"Are you okay Ma'am?" Rhian asked me while we were starting to place everything inside because we're starting to design the venue now.
"I'm alright, it's just that I'm freaking out with that man" I irritatedly said to her and looked at Travis staring at us. He also looked at him, and she nodded her hair and looked at me.
"I see. Don't get me wrong, ma'am Jaz, but I think he's after you," she whispered to me while she looked at Travis.
"Stop looking at him. He might notice that we're talking about that jerk. And besides, I don't care if he's after me. We're divorced. He's just my ex-husband now," I told her. She just agreed to what I said because if not, I would fire her. No, just kidding. I can't do that. "Sorry, but what if he's really telling the truth?" She asked me which made me look at her with my forehead knotted.
She noticed that I've been always mad these past few days because of Travis, who's always bugging me around. She couldn't help but ask me and kept on asking me. That's why I didn't have any choice but to tell her about his stupidity. At first, she thought of it as romantic, but I don't find it that way. Instead, I find it wrong. I can't explain it.
"Believe me, he never tells the truth. The only thing he knows is to hurt people around him. Look what he did to Stacy," I told her, and she sighed.
He even hurt Stacy's feelings, and they are getting married in that situation, but he still cheated on her. He's really impossible.
"What if sir Travis only stayed with Stacy, but he really loved you, and he just did that for a certain reason?" She asked, which made me sarcastically laugh.
What?! She's being delusional again. For years?! Could a man really do that if he really loved his woman?! That's insane! He didn't even think of my feelings in that case. And no man can do that because a real man would do everything to fight for his loved one. Which clearly says that Travis is totally not a man, he's just a boy! That's it!
"Common, you know the answer to your question, Rhian. A man can't endure seeing his loved one suffering for that damn decision. And if Travis would only have this stable mind which he doesn't. then he would still do something to explain everything to his girl." I opposed her.
Travis would never be like that person. Because if he is, we're not like this. And he is far from what Rhian is saying.
"But he's making an effort to get you back." She insisted, but I just shook my head. I don't care if she's making an effort or he's just doing that to show me that he still loves me. I won't buy those words of him and even his actions.
"If my story happened to you, would you still accept him?" I asked her challenging questions that made her stop what she was doing and looked at me.
Rhian knows what happened to me because I told her about it. Only one thing I didn't do. Everything all the pain he gave me and everyone who mocked me who hurt my feelings.
She knows about it. And I know she understands me.
"Actually, I don't really know how to answer that question, but if I were you and he did that without a certain reason, then I would not accept him again. Because he hurt me, he pushes me away, he never treats me as his wife, he never thinks about me, not even once. Well, definitely, I will get mad and curse him," she answered. That's what I really like about her. She really knows the answer that I want to hear.
"Which means that I shouldn't give him a chance, right?" I asked her, and she nodded unsurely.
"Right," she said and went back to work.
"Do you guys need help?" He suddenly appeared at our back but I didn't dare to look at him and kept on cutting papers.
"Uh-actually, we're good, sir. We can manage this," Rhian answered. He sighed and sat beside me, which made me glare at him, but he didn't leave his seat.
What the heck is wrong with him?! He kept on coming where I am And I kept on avoiding him.
"About those heavy things I can carry those and place-" I cut him off because I'm so irritated with his presence.
"Can't you understand what she just said? We can manage it. Besides, it's not your job to do," I told him, which made him sit back.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
"Ma'am, I think we need his help this
time because those are heavy ones", Rhian said, but she looked at me. first, I didn't agree, but she was looking at me like she was telling me something and seconds later I got
what she meant.
"See? You heard her," he stood up, and I didn't dare talk. He started carrying those heavy boxes and placing them in the storage room.
"Let's see how long his patients do
that," I smirk. He continues carrying those heavy boxes until he gets tired. He looks at us, but I just furrow my eyebrow. He smiles, and instead of resting, he continues doing his work again.
See? I have a brilliant idea" Rhian proudly said to me.
"Well that job is not enough, he needs to do something harder. I want to see him struggling and that's just simple work for him." ! said and felt like I heard myself like something of the antagonist of the story. But I don't care that he made me like this, that's why he needs to suffer.
He walked towards us whole wiping his sweat.
"I'm done," he said in a tired voice.
"You're not yet done there's more" I pointed to the other side with a lot of heavy boxes using my lips.
"What? There's another worker who will do that!' he complained but I just looked at him.
"You presented yourself. Next time, don't do that if you can't finish what you have started," I told him, and all I thought was that he would walk away, but he went back to carry those boxes. "Ma'am, don't you think that is too much?" Rhian asked me but I just shook my head.
"Never been too much."
