After receiving some leads from Zack, Linda returned to her hotel to sort through the information before contacting Wendy. Wendy began her investigation immediately, understanding how significant this matter
was to Linda.
Linda had only lay down when Chloe sent a video call request.
“What’s up?” Linda asked.
Chloe seemed to be at an estate–it was likely the house John had bought for Chloe and Linda in Novena.
“Linda, this place is perfect for retirement,” Chloe said, turning the camera to show the beautiful scenery.
It was late October. While Osmo was caught in a cold spell, Novena stayed pleasantly warm.
“Dad definitely had great taste, Linda said as she rolled over to plug in her charger. “You could move there if you love it.”
Chloe turned the camera back to herself. “No, I’d rather stay close to you. Not to mention, my company is still in Osmo.”
Relocating a company was quite challenging. Besides, Linda and Chloe still had unfinished business. They weren’t ready to relax and enjoy life just yet.
“So, why the video call?”
Linda knew Chloe wouldn’t call without a good reason, even though they were the only family each other had. Typically, it was Linda who would enthusiastically share exciting and interesting things with Chloe to keep her inspired.
Chloe’s face grew serious, a far cry from her usual demeanor. “When I arrived this morning, the handover person informed me that someone came three years ago, claiming to be the owner of this estate.”
Linda laughed and said, “Oh, it’s Lucy’s family, right?”
Chloe seemed surprised but confirmed with a nod. “Yes, Linda. How did you
know?
“Lucy’s mom’s side of the family is extremely greedy. They knew I was gone, and with Tom in charge of Felix Group, they thought they could claim everything.” Linda explained.
When John bought this estate, Novena was an average area, so the property didn’t have much value, event though it was a pleasant living spot.
Recently, Novena surged in growth and became a top–tier city with a strong economy. Consequently, many business owners were keen to invest, making the property extremely desirable. While many on Lucy’s mother’s side were clueless, a few were sharp enough to understand the estate’s actual value. “Linda, the property is under my name. Can I take legal action against them for trespassing?” Chloe asked,
“It’s not considered trespassing if they haven’t actually moved in.”

“Consult the lawyer. If you can take legal action, don’t hold back.”
“Alright, I need to get back to work now.” Chloe ended the call.
Linda set her phone down and ordered afternoon tea.
New promotional clips arrived from her editing company. She selected one and sent it to her company’s film liaison, instructing her to time the release appropriately. Early marketing was vital for a movie.
Otherwise, the box office might fall short of expectations.
Linda had high hopes for this film and was ready to put money into its promotion. Under the name Amber F, her first release was a major success and garnered several awards. Her new project needed to surpass
- it.
A knock sounded at the door, and Linda rose to answer it. Room service had arrived with her afternoon
tea.
“Ms. Felix, here’s your afternoon tea. A man also handed me this USB drive for you,” the waiter said with a
warm smile.
Linda looked confused and asked, “Who was it?”
The waiter shook his head and replied, “He said you’d understand after you checked it out.“
